Synopsis:
14,000 years ago, the Pellorean Continent awoke to the arrival of an ancient and terrible race.

Their words and ways were mysterious, and to this day they are known only as the Stone Prophecy Dynasty, and are remembered as workers of miracles in stone, and of wonders on the earth. The elven kingdoms of Bawarra, Melloren, and Borinken distrusted the the Stone Prophets, while the Men of the Harkad Empire eagerly sought to learn their crafts.

A few centuries after their arrival, the entire continent erupted in a devastating conflict now called the Desolation War. The elven kingdoms were decimated and scattered, and even among the dragons only a relative few survived. The events of those tragic times did not all pass into legend, for the wounds left behind by cruel war and bitter hatred remain fresh, poisoned continually by consequence and unwavering malice.

Seeing the devastation unleashed by a war of magic set against their advanced technology, the Stone Prophets abandoned Pellorea, leaving a relic of untold power, which, according to legend, would limit the use of magic throughout the world. It has been called the Fetters of Wizardry, but the truth of their purpose was far more sinister.

With the elven kingdoms in ruins, the Harkad Empire invaded the great forest of Melloren. Centuries of murder, pillage and enslavement ensued, and gave rise to the rechaizo, half-elven children of the enslaved, dispossessed and impoverished, while the population of the elves dwindled to a mere remnant. Much of the forest had been hewed down by Harkadian invaders, and several minor kingdoms had risen on its borders.

Fifteen years past, Moab, rightful heir to the unified elven kingdom, emerged from obscurity and gathered the group of outlaws now known as the Character Assassins. Among them were Gladden Darkfell, a half-elven assassin raised by the ogres of the Dark Fells, Katarina, a half-elven Pelethite Champion, and Arrikhan, and elvish half-giant reported to be the most powerful Thaumaturge in several centuries. Together they embarked upon a series of intrigues which led to the Integrity War, by which the Melloren Essora was returned to the control of the elves, and the three elven kingdoms were once again united under a single high king.

When the war was finished, Arrikhan set out to travel the land, seeking to restore it to its former beauty and drive out those who would continue to defile it. Katarina departed for the island of Borinken to begin training a new generation of Pelethites to defend the elven kingdoms.

While Gladden was instrumental in the war, he was not allowed to remain in Melloren because of his status as one of the rechaiza0 (the Unwanted), and so he returned to the Dark Fells, where he became the Ku’umah, or Clan Chief of the ogres.

12 years later, Gladden is summoned by the elven king Moab, who has received a message from Magister Oren Kellmire, head of the Order of Arsa. Kellmire’s message was brief and hasty, but he made it clear that he had made two terrible discoveries: that the Fetters were more than just a legend, and that several kingdoms were now searching for them in the hope that they could be the key to limitless power.

skythorn
I\'m sold.

Beautiful intricate detailed world in a fantasy setting, central character seems to be beholden to his long extensive and wise past, with some sumptious arcane knowledge being demonstrated.

Saved and faved.

Rating when there are twenty or so pages under the belt.

Cant wait to see how this proceeds.
