Looking for Group
|
|
Synopsis:
Looking For Group is the newest brain child of Ryan Sohmer and Lar DeSouza, the brilliant duo that brings us Least I Could Do. The story is set in a parody fantasy universe, lampooning all levels of mainstream lore stories on a bi-weekly basis. The comic focuses on the adventures of a naive Elf, a charming, but frighteningly devious warlock, a priestess, a powerful and tactical Tauren warrior, and their panther, Soomba.

I dont like this webcomic. The art is interesting, and there is a mature mind there somewhere but on the whole, it\'s not nice. I dont find it engaging. I dont find it insightful. It\'s sily, and to me, not silly in a bad way.

| I have some bais becasue this comic reminds me so much of a D&D party I played a campaign with. That aside, i am still picky about webcomics and I find this one to be delghtful. |

| As has been said here, there is exactly one interesting character: Richard. The rest are weak stereotypes with nothing interesting going on, much less funny. Richard successfully carries the comic through much of it\'s archives, but in recent months the comic has been just AWFUL. Partly, this is because Richard has been de-emphasized, but even when he does try to use Richard, Richard just isn\'t as funny as he used to be. This comic is in free fall, and I am dropping it from my faves. |

Who here likes Homestar Runner? Who is a fan of the character Homsar? He\'s a fan favorite. He provides wacky non-sequential humor. The creators of Homestar Runner only use him in small doses though. Too much would be boring!
What does this have to do with Looking for Group? Okay, take Homsar. Make him do wacky violence jokes where he kills absolutely everyone and gets away with it. Make him used in every episode of Homestar Runner. Give him a makeover, call him Richard, put in in Looking for Group.
Richard is a wacky character who\'s overused. Since the vast, vast majority of pages rely on him for the punchline, it just gets so boring.
Being a humor comic, this means the comic basically fails at its purpose by not being able to use original punchlines.
Lar DeSouza produces nice artwork, but I prefer his pinups and the art he does outside of comics. Its just more tolerable without that dull and tired character - Richard! |

| An outstandingly engaging Webcomic which features an interesting cast of characters and an intriguing (albeit occasionally confusing) plot. |

| It got stuck up it's own arse for a bit, but he's nicely blended comedy with the plot in a happy balance. Worth a read if you enjoy RPGs. |

| Looking For Group is by far my favourtie web comic. It is a brilliant mix of fantasy, humour and action. The artwork of Lar DeSouza is amazing and I have yet to come across the skill and professionality of Ryan Sohmer's work truelly a perfect combination that delivers an unforgettable experience...oh and Richard The Warlock FTW, nuff said. |

| Excellent comic. The artwork is excellent, and I love how the artist borrows from a whole line of RPG concepts, and as nukunuku said, Richard is plain out awesome. |

| Awsome comic, just starting but the potential is overwelming. Every comic so far is full of laughs. If you like flaming bunnies, wanton violence in a fantasy setting this is for you. |
