Muddlecreek has hands down the best art in any webcomic I have seen. I love it. Backgrounds and color are beautiful, well staged, the characters are all appealing.
But the writing...
The writing leaves A LOT to be desired. I read through almost the entire archive and found myself groaning more than laughing. There are definitely some funny ones in there, but I get the feeling that Mr. Benedict does not spend enough time coming up with gags and just goes with the first thing that pops into his head as the majority are pretty cliche.
It pains me to say this because I want to LOVE this comic because the art is so amazing. It definitely has a tremendous amount of potential and would be the best webcomic if he either spent a little more time writing or worked with a partner. |
