Synopsis:
The story of a dwarven swordsmith who is sent on a mission to save Pangea. Accompanied by a changeling and a hellhound, he must find the Twelve Grand Dragons; and save all races from oblivion.

From what I've read so far, the story really has grabbed me. The art is extremely good and you really have a good sense of how to convey the action. Your story's still in the exposition phase even though you've already had at least 2 chapters, so that might be a weak point. I know it might be setting up an epic but the less exposition, the better. That way, you get to the good stuff faster...
Some other stuff I really like is how the dialogue is done-- like when the dragons speak or do their mind speak thing, the lettering is different. The character designs are also really good-- you can tell the difference between the races fairly easily. Although I think this comic is also treading the line between originality and stereotypes... as the world of Pangea seems to have humans, dwarves, giants and elves... as well as the half-breeds.
The other thing that really slows the pace of the comic down is the plethora of guest comics... I know that they're a huge compliment but in a story-driven comic, having a random guest strip show up that doesn't add to the story is very jarring. It also really breaks up the rhythm that is set up by the earlier storytelling...
Anyway, this has the makings of a good comic... I just need a bit of a push before I can give this comic a wholehearted 5. |
