I hate to have to agree with Ziggy (since he's got even less--yes, it's possible--creative talent than this comic's author), but he is right:
This thing is just stupid. It's not at all offensive, it's just a sequence of cliches taking up well-established opinions that everyone already shares. If any of this is meant to be parody, it's so overly-transparent as to rob it even of the overused cliched parody it might have been.
I think it started as a prank, a sort of HNTRAC thing, and then it got popular, and the webartist decided to continue it rather than make something good. |

Since you asked a question, I'll reply.
It is because I find the comic intellectually offensive, lazy, and deceptive, on your part.
It's a lazy, racist grab at attention, which isn't anything special, but the fact that you seem to delight in this and then tell people you're simply trying to make a really bad comic is a lie.
When someone says they like the comic, that boggles me and I feel the need to ask them why and tell them what I think about it. |

ziggurath, since you don't like the comic, why do you keep wasting your time posting about it? You posted about it here, on the gutterflycomix.com messageboards and in your own blog. Complaining about it is not getting you anywhere. |

Any idea why? Is it funny like fat people are funny?
After discussing it with the author, it's painfully obvious the strip's purpose is to 1) let him lazily air the prejudiced jokes he likes to whisper to his friends and 2) pretend it's a controversial satire/commentaryon webcomics, thereby relinquishing his responsibility for its lazy, juvenile humor.
Plus, the apparent delight he gets from pretending the strip is controversial is pathetic. |
