Synopsis:
SO MANY LEVELS targets so many different things at once without being one thing exclusively, hence its name. At its core, it's not really a comic but a series of dialogues by a gay teenager named Henry and his quirky family and friends in a small town called Fairfield. Henry lives with his adoptive father Willie Mendez, a gentle, spiritual yoga teacher and his spunky sibling Holly, a 17-year-old who wants to be a pop star. The comic generally explores the lives of the Mendez family and their friends from Henry's colorful perspective. On one hand, we witness the raw and dynamic commentary Henry provides as he juggles the world of teenagedom and his own vulnerability (don't call him naive because he hates that, even though he is) along with his tender and innocent reflections about life and himself. Add some hearty melodrama, romance and randomness and then you have this comic.

You might laugh, cry or stare quizzically but after reading you'll relate to Henry, his family and all their friends as we explore their ups and downs and in-betweens. The comic is meant to appeal to everyone including non-comic readers, which is why the format is somewhat unconventional. With that, the plot generally focuses on one story a week, ranging from Willie's obsession with loving everything (including household pests), to Holly's frantic bouts in seeking fame, to Henry's issues with being gay, biracial and adopted. In short, this comic is meant to be a celebration of life in all its aspects and the human spirit. There's no overarching message or statement----only that you enjoy the comic and, more importantly, resonate with it on so many levels.
