The websites don\'t work. Can\'t get story.

But, read it before. It was pretty good.
desertDragon 3/5
The story is a bit naive and everything is so predictable... For me it seems that all the ideas are grabbed from elsewhere...used so many times before...

But I keep reading it..just because of the wonderful artwork.

Thanks for the nice comments and the stars, everyone! ^-^
Return of the Exile will be updating on Mondays only, but be sure to peek in the forum, and the vote incentive for new art. (I will try to update the vote incentive 2-3 times a week.

Thank you again for reading and taking the time to comment!

What's to say that hasn't been said already?
I love the artwork, stunned by the shadowing techniques you use. This one went into my fav-list after just one glance at the most recent page; I'm reading the archive right now.
It's got everything that a classic needs; now to try and find it in print here in europe... ;-)
Skarface 5/5
This is in my opinion the best comic in the whole list.

zoopbang 5/5
One of my favorite comics. The art is very well done. The story is original and fun. The characters and interaction are what make me really enjoy this. Please check it out.
fingerfoot 5/5
This is really classic. Verygood story and art. I would be more than glad to buy it. But I also liked the Grossgen Comics. It do not seemed that eveyone has the same tastes when it comes to a great comic series.

The best of luck to you all

Outstanding art. Seems like dedicated and imaginative writing. Immediately grabbed my interest. Not the greatest overall but what the hell is?

Love it :)

I read this the first time back when it was on (drunk duck, was it?) and was SO upset when it was taken down @.@;

I love this one ^^ It immediately went on my favorites list here and on OnlineComics.
I love the art style and the art in general is done beautifully!
The characters are great, and can't wait for the rest of them to appear! Not to mention the story is downright enthralling!

Can't wait to see what happens!!

Seeing previous comments makes me glad I decided to check this out now rather than earlier, because one can assume there were lots of navigational mishaps before. I'm happy to announce to any potential readers that it flowed like a charm for me! But enough about that, let's get to the comic itself!

This has some AMAZING artwork, and a very solid storyline and cast to back it up. The art itself is stylized but still original - this doesn't look like every other comic out there. Characters manage to show a wide range of emotion, and thus their personality is better brought out through their facial features, as well as overall design, which is something I've always been attracted to when it's done well (and it certainly is, here). The story itself looks to be very detailed and planned out, and to agree with other comments before me, it seems to have potential to run a very long time while still surprising fans.

Easily a 5 star comic, and I'm not surprised at all to know it's going into print. Keep up the awesome work!

The old site with the pop-up ads is now gone. You should be able to enjoy TALISMEN Return of the Exile (Return to Donnelly) pop-up-free.

This is a decent comic, with good artwork, and a promising storyline, but I have stopped reading it due to the excessive number of pop-up ads, which I loathe.

Hi! Just wanted to say that I really enjoy the style of this comic. I want to buy it when it is available at Atlantis Studios. There's nothing like having the real thing in your hands, where you can study the frame layout all at once. Very exciting! I also enjoy the art done for Elf Quest and your comic is reminscent of that book. I love color!!! I have been working on my own comic, which is stlyed after the epic fantasy story line, heros etc. I have been offered for the comic to be put in print by a small fantasy printery...it's one thing to do it for fun, but more nerve intensive to think about print. So--cheers for you! Looking forward to my own copy of Return to Donnelly.

I have resumed posting new pages on the site, but I will remove all but one panel of each page after they are up for a week or so. If you want to see the story in its complete form you can go here to order copies: http://www.atlantisstudios.net/tali smen/ or you can go to your local comic shop and ask for TALISMEN Return of the Exile!

Thanks for stopping!

Thank you to everyone for your comments on the Return to Donnelly comic.

I want to apologize for the confusing posts over the last few weeks- Diana, I appreciate your opinon on this. Since the comic itself has been picked up by a publisher, I am no longer allowed to post new pages. The pieces of art I had been posting were mostly for the folks who kept visiting, just to give them something new to see. Apparently this had an adverse effect on the overall story.

Diana- I have removed everything but the pages, however, even when you had looked at it, the pages were still in order and uninterrupted from page 1 until page 16 of the first issue, so I am not quite sure what your comment about 'only five or six consecutive pages refers to.

This comic will be available in print in September- preorders can be made here- http://www.atlantisstudios.net/tali smen/

Thanks for your interest!

The numerous single pages suggest that there is not only the 20 pages story already published on the site. There are also a past story, a future story, and other places and other characters. So many inspiration, and still many work ahead to bring all this into the form of readable stories...
Diana Kennedy 3/5
The art is outstanding, but I wasn't able to build a story that get over 5 or 6 succeeding pages so far.
The whole is constantly interrupted by fan art, scetches and single panles with no particular meaning or order. It may be only a matter of real bad navigtion and sloppy archive organisation, but it's definitely not a minor problem.

You get hookd for while because of the first, bright apparence but after a while you abondon it, when you are bored to just see randomly images.

So I only give it a 3 stars, and those all for the art.
Kimmers4Ever 5/5
A fantastic blend of beatiful art and a promising story. I look forward to seeing what the futture brings for this webcomic.

Beautiful art, great story. All around a good comic. Fortunately for the author its getting published, unfortunately for us, it wont be online for a long time.

Sanood 5/5
This comic is beautiful. I'm surprised I did not stumble across it sooner. Wonderful work and I'm looking forward to the rest of the story.

Hello Barb,

this is a wonderfull story with nice drawings, nice colors, warm characters and so on. It is not so common among so many ugly or simplistic cartoons. I think I must encourage you.

The storyline too is interesting, it can continue on a Lord Of The Ring style, but Olie can still have interactions with the "real" world leading to interesting situations. I do not suggest you anything, but please do not come with an end where Olie is rejected back into "reality"!

The fact that Olie is a US marine can make him not sympathetic for non-americans like me, useless to explain why. But I think it is far better to go into the story and let this kind of stuff behind the door, as you say. Anyway this makes some original jokes, US marines are not commonly portrayed that way.

I encourage you to change your navigation system, with direct links or several images on the same page.

Above all I encourage you to work full heartedly to bring us a long and wonderfull story!

LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE.

Awesome comic. Brilliant artwork, engaging storyline, cute and fun. Ollie is now a member of my Man Harem.

This comic is amazing <333 The art is just fantastic, the CG job is amazing... the only setback is my only being able to read the first few pages on this virus-infested computer >__<

This is going on my favourites for sure!
ixidro 5/5
Absolutely beautiful artwork and apparently well thought out story and characters. I really can't wait to see the whole thing put together. The waiting is the hard part.

Outstanding, conceptually and artfully...Kudos kudos...waiting for more

This is Barb, the Donnelly creator.

First off, thank you for the nice comments, and the stars! Very nice of you. Sorry about the site quality- I am trying to figure out a better way to deal with that.

I am getting a few comments and emails letting me know that sixteen pages is not enough...really? (I am even being threatened with a whip.)

One person compared this comic to a pusher addicting people to crack, which I... think... was a compliment. (?)

Anyhoo...I AM working on more. I promise. All kinds of freaky junk. Scary castles, blue girls with wings, the uber creepy green guy (not the pseudo green guy that was in the first chapter, but the REAL green guy..huh? you ask...) the Grey Knight might even pop up in the next chapter. And then Ollie and Astrina will have their own issues...

I am trying to find a publisher to print the thing, so that I might even make a bit of money on it. Donnelly is my pet project that I work on when the real world can be shut behind a door.

Thank u for your interest!

luv ~B

glee. ^_^ you are going to draw more, right?

I mean, 16 pages isn't nearly enough... that's just a teaser! ^_~

*Strolling over from Elfwood*
I have to say this is a wonderful story, the characters are portrayed wonderfully and I don't believe (or wouldn't want to believe) anyody who says it's not great. Overall, a beautiful and magical piece of work.

I think this is absolutely great! :-)
AnnoyedWabbit 5/5
wheee. ^_^ new pages to read, oh joy!
I like the realistic background you're giving Ollie. Even if it is sad. Poor Ollie.

-Ruth from over Elfwood way.
Lavallin 4/5
The artwork is beautiful, and the storyline definitely has masses of potential.

It's just a shame that the navigation UI is so horrific.
