| Otter Soldiers is Scandinavian dark fantasy with an ironic twist. It manages to turn things as unlikely as raisins and Santa's elves into something sinister; it has unique characters like Tassukorva, a naked, invisible-to-most woman with a face veiled by long hair and a smiley-face that appears on the back of her head when needed; it has an epic battle waged not exactly between Good and Evil but between forces mostly outside the human realm of moral judgment. It is, in short, deeply original, captivating, and genuinely edgey. Also, it has gorgeous, very unusual art that complements the story perfectly. |
