\"The Little Merman\" (Japanese: 小さな人 9770; , Chīsana ningyo) is a fairy tale by the Japanese poet and author Victoria Chang about a young merman willing to give up his life in the sea and his identity as a merman to gain a human soul and the love of a human princess. The tale was first published in 2002 that is Japanese version of “The Little Mermaid\" (Danish: Den lille havfrue) is a fairy tale by the Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen and has been adapted to various media including musical theater and animated film.
