Synopsis:
Pibgorn follows the epic saga of its eponymous, fairy heroine as she blunders into and out of danger, magic spells, maledictions, love, hate, rivalry, loyalty, trust, friendship and lousy hair days. Anesthetic to rules and regulations, oblivious to the paths her world long ago blazed for her, Pibgorn streaks through the welkin in hot pursuit of what lies beyond being a mere fairy.

To others who enjoy Pibgorn in its many forms,
Please clarify an image from Go Comics, Pibgorn Sketches for October 14, 2014.
When I was 15 I chanced on and gave an hour\'s study to Goya\'s Disasters of War. I was stunned and nauseated and the latter has always kicked in when I\'ve seen any image of an atrocity. In McEdowney\'s sketch I can only see what appears to be a brutal horror. This is unlike the artist but perhaps in keeping my trauma with Goya and how Rorschach tests work. I would be grateful to anyone who knows when the completed cell ran so I can see it and get back to seeing what I\'m sure is a tragedy or McEldowney\'s sensual take on Drusilla doing a pole dance but now appears a sickening deed of violence against women.

Keep an eye on Brooke McEldowney's blog for updates.

I always liked Pibgorn -- it was a beautiful strip, even if its plotlines were pretty much impossible to follow. But if you want plotlines, read Mary Worth.

Clearly McEldowney was overextended doing both this strip and 9 Chickweed Lane, and obviously Chickweed pays the bills.

I just found this on Wikipedia's Pibgorn listing:

With United Media’s announcement that “Pibgorn” is to be discontinued, I have been inundated with e-mail, much of it agitated and distressed. I’m very sorry you had to get the news in this rather dispassionate way. That I may answer your central question forthwith, I’ve composed this response for everyone – so please forgive me if I seem impersonal.

“PIBGORN” WILL CONTINUE.

There. That is the main thing I wanted to say. Comics.com, however, will, as they have announced, no longer be the source. Nothing dramatic happened, really. I simply came to feel that the editorial needs of comcs.com and those of “Pibgorn” were becoming more and more divergent and incompatible. For this reason I asked to be released from my contract with United Media in order to secure a new online home for “Pibgorn.” United Media most graciously, and reluctantly, agreed. In short order I hope to get Pib back up and flying.

Meanwhile, you have seen the most current installments of “Pibgorn.” Hold that thought. We’ll be back.

All best wishes, and thanks so very much for writing.

So that explains why Comics.com immediately pulled the archives.

For me, Pibgorn started out nice, but it was getting obvious that McEldowney was running out of steam. For me the death of the piece was with the Midsummer Night's Dream thing; it just didn't fit, as far as I was concerned. The fact that he chose to insult everyone who didn't enjoy that particular storyline did not help his image or the image of the strip at all; in fact, that's where I dropped 9 Chickweed Lane as well.

What a shame. Pibgorn is gone; discontinued. Brooke has been hinting he was done with these characters. It was very abrupt; one day announcment. 4-18-07 was the last.

Pibgorn is simply the most beautifully drawn comic today. With its sensuous and literary storylines it is for an adult audience. You have to read Pibgorn carefully to get the most enjoyment out of it, but it is well worth the effort.

I just wish there was someplace that had the entire series so I could catch up on everything.

Donny is wrong. WRONG! Beautifully drawn and inked, innovative framing, wonderful perspective. Sure it jumps now and again- it's a comic, not a graphic novel; write your own apocolyptic storyline and leave Brooke to his own. The women are sensuously rendered, if chinless. In my opinion, the best comic out there, on many levels.

Is there anywhere else that I can find this comic besides comics, com?

I've always liked something about this artists style.

Pure garbage and an utter waste of time. The author has no sense of pacing or story structure and seems to forget what the over all story is supposed to be (it IS supposed to be about a fairy fighting the forces of the apocolypse right? RIGHT?!). Plus he can't draw attractive women to save his life.

Pibgorn is fun and fluffy and dark and disturbing all at the same time. The artwork is gorgeous, especially the use of colour and texture. A definite favourite of mine.
