Get The Code

a squid-like alien with a cute-faced suit from a planet where dishonesty is the norm, aquires a space ship and (dishonestly) the use of an engineer. The engineer turns out to be a Bowman Wolf genetic experiment complete with her canine loyalty. Lots of robots with free will and full of interesting sci-fi.

phatnes 5/5
Epic sci fi storytelling featuring a repair-your-own-spaceship story, planetary colonization and terraforming, interspecies relations of all kinds, thorough discourses on AI and free will, a looming robot genocide conspiracy, while not refraining from dragging out hilarious chases over dozens of pages. The art is minimalistic, but clean and consistent, and I think only spoilt brats would call it bad. With the exception of feet. That guy probably could not draw anatomically plausible feet - mind you with shoes on and rendered as a basic outline - if his life depended on it. There is little information about him, but he hinted on different occasions that he is working as an engineer in an industrial plant, married, and also had some health issues but I wish him all the best and hope he is OK now.

Picking up =- now has great plot, good characters and same bad yet good art. increasing praise mark to four stars.
skythorn 3/5
Bad Art
Great plot
clever and witty.
Earlier stuff more funny
Later stuff more philosophically clever.

Sorry, I forgot to rate it :)
that guy
This guy can fit a good clean joke into every comic strip. Let me put emphasis on the word clean, because there\'s so many comics out there that can\'t help but make almost every joke a dirty joke. Not that there\'s anything wrong with dirty jokes... I just prefer them in small doses.

A spectacular comic. At every opportunity our beloved captain manages to drag Florence into some new and wonderful chaos. She handles it as best she can, always in a wonderfully inventive fashion.

Though never without its humor, Freefall often examines deep and interesting questions you never knew you had about human nature, the nature of humanity and the ethical issues artificial intelligences raise, both for us and for themselves.
Kalinda 5/5
The one webcomic I\'ve followed for nearly a decade. Others come and go, but Freefall is the best.

Hilarious work as usual, Mark! keep it up :)
Old Wolf 5/5
It doesn't get any better than this. Enjoyable to read, fun characters, great science fiction, good hard science and a lot of serious things to think about.
panix 5/5
Brilliant comic! Too bad no info available on the artist... I really would love to see who created, the best five-minute break literature out there.
WH2007 5/5
The best comic I've read in my life! Highly recommended!

Freefall is a great Sci-fi comic, and one BEST out there. This one actually had me laughing out loud.
rjc2001 4/5
Good world building and interesting characters. A bit slow moving but worth the patience. One of the better webcomics I have found.

I tend to judge webcomic most by how many I read in my first sitting. Usually I only read two or three before giving up, because webcomics are usually that bad, but I read through this archive for hours and hours and only had to stop because I needed to sleep. It will be hard when I get up to date, though, because thre comics a week won't really move fast enough.
krabat 5/5
A completely wonderful strip. The story is a little slow paced, but it makes up for it with everything else.
octan 5/5
This is quite possibly the funniest comic strip ever written and certainly my favorite. It's not just for sci-fi geeks; anyone would enjoy Sam Starfall's criminal incompetency, Helix's lovable dim-wittedness, and Florence's canine quirkiness. Not to mention the cartoonist comes up with the most unusual scenarios: imagine for instance a French restaurant run by NINJAS. O_O
redneck 4/5
Silly situations, interesting characters, simple, clean yet expressive artwork... that's Freefall. Stories are paced slowly, but it's hard to advance very fast with three three-panel strips per week...
Misha 5/5
A funny comic with GREAT Hard Sci-Fi and a wonderful take on technology and humor, and a cast-iron update schedule (i.e. I've been reading him for YEARS now, and I've yet to see him miss one). HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended.
Srdjan 4/5
Very nice SF comic with some robot-like aliens, some dog-like hybrids, it's mostly very interesting. Art is nice, clear line, not much expressive, though. I reccomend.
