| Comic: Raymondo Person |
 |
| Best art i\'ve seen in a stick figure comic. The first part of this comic is great, the second is pretty good, and the hiatus is disappointing. :c |
| Comic: Brawl in the Family |
 |
| The art can be sometimes crude, but the humor is simple and fun. Its not a two gamers on a couch comic, it\'s never political, edgy, overly-serious or tasteless, but its always pleasant. Its a gaming comic without the usual flaws of the genre. Definite read. |
| Comic: xkcd |
 |
XKCD is a hit and a miss for me. Some comics are funny, some comics are just boring nerd observations. The comic makes jokes based on topics not often tackled in comics, like tape measures and Skifree. It suppose that is kind of refreshing, but it doesn\'t make them funny.
I don\'t hate XKCD. Its funny enough to be better than a lot of other comics, but its not one of the best. |
| Comic: Looking for Group |
 |
Who here likes Homestar Runner? Who is a fan of the character Homsar? He\'s a fan favorite. He provides wacky non-sequential humor. The creators of Homestar Runner only use him in small doses though. Too much would be boring!
What does this have to do with Looking for Group? Okay, take Homsar. Make him do wacky violence jokes where he kills absolutely everyone and gets away with it. Make him used in every episode of Homestar Runner. Give him a makeover, call him Richard, put in in Looking for Group.
Richard is a wacky character who\'s overused. Since the vast, vast majority of pages rely on him for the punchline, it just gets so boring.
Being a humor comic, this means the comic basically fails at its purpose by not being able to use original punchlines.
Lar DeSouza produces nice artwork, but I prefer his pinups and the art he does outside of comics. Its just more tolerable without that dull and tired character - Richard! |
| Comic: Collar 6 - A Bondage Fetish Webcomic |
 |
I never claimed to be an authority on BDSM. Everything I say is from my 18 year old experience. No need to point that out using sarcasm, its actually very obvious without it!
So... if anything i\'ve said about the master/slave trust is incorrect, please, go nuts correcting it. I don\'t mind being corrected when if wrong seriously! Its how I learn.
The current pages do feature some character development, which is pleasant. This is all done with text walls, which is unpleasing. It also feels like its too little, too late. In your case, a bit of character development probably should have occurred during the first comics, while the characters were walking in the park, explaining why Laura was hard to collar or something.
Its like you\'ve missed out on a lot of development, and are now cramming it in as much as you can into a short space! Its no good! |
| Comic: Dueling Analogs |
 |
Dueling analogs is not worth reading. Its all ideas that have been done before. With bland art. And failed attempts at edginess. AND a Mary-Sue self insert. And none of the videogame characters depicted in the comic are in character.
Go read Penny arcade or another one of the comics with Dueling analogs rips off instead. Many of them are better than this. |
| Comic: Apple Geeks |
 |
| If you enjoy a series of Apple computer ads brought to you by a cast of Mary-sues, this comic is for you. |
| Comic: Oglaf |
 |
| Very funny sex jokes, and the comic can even pull of safe for work jokes. I normally don\'t go for sex jokes, but this comic pulls them off better than a lot of other comics. |
| Comic: Kit N' Kay Boodle |
 |
The characters in this look like something out a a children\'s cartoon.
Having sex. Non-stop.
I promise you, this comic will destroy whatever childhood you had, regardless of generation or background. |
| Comic: Office Bitch, The |
 |
| This is creepy. This is disturbing. This is depressing. This is incoherent. This is one comic I couldn\'t finish. And after reading as much as I could, my libido was drained. Gone. This... this is anti-porn. |
| Comic: Cyanide and Happiness |
 |
| I like a few of these, but the whole archive is a slog of same-y humour. |
| Comic: Las Lindas |
 |
| This is a softcore porn fanservice comic. People: Either go read a real porn, or a real story. |
| Comic: Awkward Zombie |
 |
| Great comic. Artist knows who to make visual jokes, and shows real effort and improvement in their art. It has an author avatar who is rarely used and isn\'t a blatent Mary Sue, which is nice to see. |
| Comic: 8-bit Theatre |
 |
| 8 bit theater is tired. It was good in the beginning, but after a while, it just started feeling like the same thing over and over. Good FAQ though. |
| Comic: PronQuest |
 |
| The cum in the logo looks chunky, like it has the consistency of custard. This is disgusting. The 3D is sloppy, background are lazy. And sex looks painful and disturbing, being played out by lifeless appearing 3D models, some straight out of uncanny valley. |
| Comic: Dominic Deegan |
 |
| The art is terrible, hasn\'t improved over the years and is a bad mimic of anime art. And the story is terrible because the main character always right and does almost everything right. He\'s a Mary Sue. |
| Comic: Ctrl+Alt+Delete |
 |
This comic has poorly assembled copy-paste art. It frequently spreads short jokes over four panels, when they should have only taken one or two to tell. Recently, the comic has attempted serious storylines, but those fail because jokes (not good jokes, mind you, but jokes) are told between the serious story points.
The punchline of the first CAD comic is \"two gamers on a couch comics are unoriginal\". That should have also been the end to the comic. |
| Comic: Snafu Comics |
 |
| Out of 600 or so Snafu comics, I found less than 1 percent of them funny. Oh. There are very, very occasional funny ones. But they weren\'t super-funny, and the rest of the comic was just too painful to read for a little laugh. |
| Comic: Edge the Devilhunter |
 |
My god, this comic is edgy. So very edgy. I hate edgy comics. They distill any message they might have in them with over the top violence and sex, and this is no different.
But this is better suited to the taste of those who like edgy comics. So... if you like edgy comics, read this one. If you don\'t like edgy comics, don\'t read this one. |
| Comic: pictures for sad children |
 |
| This comic is depressing and minimalistic. Few colours, stick figures, and simple grammar would be flaws in most comics, but they only serve to make this comic better. |
| Comic: Least I Could Do |
 |
This comic reminds be of Menage a 3, except the main character actually gets laid. A lot. Which doesn\'t make it better. Its got a good artist (currently), but a writer who does nothing but write repetitive jokes.
And Rayne is the most unlikeable dude ever. I don\'t even love to hate him. I just hate him. |
| Comic: Chester 5000 XYV |
 |
| I don\'t like porn webcomics. I read this one because a lot of other webcomic authors I liked read it. Even without liking porn webcomics, its interesting talking-less storytelling style and purple wash colouring were really good, and different. I quite enjoyed it. |
| Comic: Collar 6 - A Bondage Fetish Webcomic |
 |
Unrealistic character development and a master abusing her slave. Bondage is about trust, there is no trust here. The master is already BEATING the slave and gagging her when she screams, before they\'ve spent a day together. That\'s not funny. And then its revealed there is trust! After a day! Yeah right. Trust doesn\'t work that way, and doesn\'t happen in day. Oh yeah, then the slave gets drugged without knowing it after the master gives her a trust speech. What a \"great\" relationship.
A humour bondage comic could work. A bondage comic which shows more than just the sex involved in bondage could work. This is not one. This is a disturbing portrayal of the master/slave relationship. |
| Comic: Questionable Content |
 |
I\'ve wanted to read this comic. It\'s popular, i\'ve been curious as to why. So I open up my browser, and read the latest update first. Because its the first thing I see, and may prep me for some archive binging.
But then I see the latest update is SO BORING, I close the window. I can\'t read this. It just bores me before I have the chance to.
This has happened more than once. I even peeked at the comic before writing this comment, to see if it were good today. It wasn\'t.
And what\'s the point of reading the old comics it if the newest comics are so boring? I\'m giving every comic i\'ve read a 1. |
| Comic: Ménage à 3 |
 |
| The art is nice. Its a shame the artist is wasting their skill on a series of juvenile sex jokes. Not that sex jokes are BAD, but when every punchline of every comic strip is \"SEX!\", then its repetitive and the joke stops being funny. |
| Comic: VG Cats |
 |
| When I was first getting into webcomics, I liked VGcats. But that was years ago. While I think the art of VGcats has improved over the years, the jokes have become repetitive and the author has just lost his passion for making the comics (other than using the series as his cash cow). Also, any comic which focuses on the cats (of the comic\'s title sucks), as the cats just aren\'t interesting. |
| Comic: Annyseed - Blood of Another |
 |
The colouring is nice, but it can\'t save the art. Every character is drawn crosseyed and slanted, with weird waist anatomy.
The comic story seems like a typical fish-out-of-water story, but nothing extraordinary or new.
Although the comic is new, and its not to late for this comic to do something impressive. Here\'s hoping it does. |
| Comic: Anders Loves Maria |
 |
| Human beings acting like human beings. Not wish fulfillment sues and/or affectionate parodies of the author\'s friends. How refreshing. |
| Comic: Cru the Dwarf |
 |
| Softcore (and sometimes hardcore) porn comic which has repetitive punchlines. The author uses WoW images, assembled to make this comic, and I think that\'s neat. Its a shame everything else brings this comic down. |
| Comic: The Abominable Charles Christopher |
 |
| I can\'t believe this isn\'t higher. This is a fantastic comic, if not paced a bit slowly. Emotion is conveyed so well, the art is professional-looking (and is really done by a professional), and it really wants to make you read more! Even if the plot doesn\'t seem to be going anywhere soon. |
| Comic: Chugworth Academy |
 |
| The art is nice, but the characters are often put into wooden looking poses. The speech bubbles are well laid out, but the way the characters talk is so inane. The characters look nice and different, but their personalities are boring and cliched. And its just not funny. Chugworth should be better, but its not. |
| Comic: Grim Tales from Down Below |
 |
| This comic is a mega-crossover which also ignores all canon. The art is mostly pleasing, but tends to feature panty-shots... of little girls. The author is a loli fan, and this shows in the comic, and its disturbing. The plot also heavily relies on shock value, and lacks real substance beyond that. And if that\'s not enough, the comic features frequent text walls and... did I mention the character\'s personalities ignore canon entirely/ |
| Comic: YU+ME : dream |
 |
| After the big plot twist (which I won\'t spoil) the hundreds of pages before said plot twist all feel like a TL;DR introduction. After that though, the comic becomes rather pleasant. The story is average to me, but has great pacing and outstanding art to go with it. If you have the patience to put up with a long intro, this is a decent read. |
| Comic: Smug I Could Do |
 |
| Parody of Least I could do, but with some variety in the jokes. Funny, especially to those who aren\'t fond of LICD. But the art is worse than LICD, and sometimes seems to make fun of copy-paste art more than it makes fun of LICD. |
