Freak Syndrome: The outbreaks started about a century or so ago. A mysterious illness that causes ordinary beings to mutate, gaining mass and power... while simultaneously developing a psychotic rage. From the preternatural beings the Freak Syndrome was spread to true supernaturals. Given the already delicate and uneasy balance between humans in the world of Esrever and their legendary neighbors, the Syndrome understandably caused some serious alarm. It wasn't long before the outnumbered "monster-hunters" combating the Freaks began to group together. These hunting parties began to gain strength, despite calamitous setbacks - and finally a skilled hunter formed a special guild for those who hunted Freaks...
The term "Troubleshooter" was adopted for these mercenary exterminators.
And amongst their most skilled is counted the gunfighting Troubleshooter who can achieve what seems extremely unlikely to others. His name: Ark the Improbable. |
