| Started by Chris Sanders after he was booted by Disney as director of \"Bolt,\" this comic gives us an idea of what \"Bolt\" would have been like -- a strange, edgy, funny fantasy reminiscent of \"Lilo and Stitch\" at its weirdest. The heroine is Lilo as a little Haida girl; her friends include a adorable rabbit who lives in a graveyard in terror of chupacabras and a one-eyed cat with a skull on his eyepatch, who perpetrates incomprehensible Dada pranks and likes watching skateboard accidents on the Internet. Sanders stopped updating this comic in 2008when his real job at DreamWorks started occupying all his time. But what there is of it is a joy-- beautifully drawn, off-the-wall cuteness laced with arsenic. |
