O31: October 31st
Author: Sephiramy
|
|
Synopsis:
15 years past a man-made apocalypse, the focus is on a select few residents of a broken-down Los Angeles, whose lives will unknowingly grow into much more than the daily toil and turmoil. The artwork is mildly influenced by both American and Japanese comic styles. (As the warning on the mainpage states, there is some violence and suggested mature content. 18 and over recommended.)
Now updated Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Ok, so now it is updating, and it's still utterly, wonderfully, incredibly beatifull. There is a dark and menacing feeling to it that I appreciate, and the charcters are manysided and complex. Also, they're most cool and handsom, and soon the world will be full of fanboys and girls.
I dont know why O31 isn't at least in the top 20. In the future, when I am supreme ruler of everything, it will be in the top 5. |

Gah, I must reread this again before I can settle on a rating.
I love Wayne.
Now that that's said, I am SO interested in this. I love the artwork and the story line, although it is a tad bit confusing. A bit too much text for me. Its almost like a picture book instead of a comic.
None the less, I love it and cannot wait for more!
Charlie is adorable.
Wayne... I can't describe my love for Wayne.
Gwen is beautiful!
Ross is hot!!
Keep it up. |

Site is back up, complete with a new page!
I guess until the pattern matches, or crawler connects, or whatever needs to happen, I'll just alert people of updates in the comments, here. |

| The only reason that it doesn't get five stars from me is that there isn't so much of it, and it hasn't been updated in a while. But the artwork is ABSOLUTLY FRIGGIN BEAUTIFUL, so just don't stand around here. Go read it! Go!! |

First of all, thanks to everyone who has left a comment or added us to their favorites so far! Your support is very much appreciated, and we're glad to see so many people like it... SO many, in fact, that our monthly bandwidth ran out! That's right, a whole gigabyte gone in around-about 3 weeks! I had to shell out to get it going again, so hopefully by tomorrow not only will the site be back up, but it'll have a new page to go with it!
Thanks again, we hope you continue to enjoy O31... we aren't even to the good parts, yet! |

I'm convinced that O31 may be the best largely undiscovered comic you'll find online. An amazingly stylistic compilation of honed satirical wit, perceptive sociological commentary and characterful dialogue, this book doesn't subject itself to the particular strictures of any vogue idiom but rather reflects an almost cinematic expansiveness that is both stunning in it's scope and pleasantly classical in it's emphasis on traditional moral themes.
Along for the ride are a set of diverse protagonists, whose individual palatability is drawn from a uniform soundness of character that transcends the gulfs of physical distance, lifestyle and personal allegiance that separates them. The initial story arcs (composed of two individual, simultaneously running stories at a time) have served to highlight the origins and inherent interests of the primary characters, all the while cultivating a sense of “greater purpose” that speaks favorably to the massively epic tone the series will likely develop.
The caliber of the story itself is complimented by art that is, by turns, gritty, lush and visionary and features breathtaking backdrops that seem to effortlessly distill the most potent images of an dramatically compromised world. The artistic aptitude of the creators may be most clearly evidenced, however, by the characters themselves, who reflect in their designs every finer point of their well fashioned personalities and whose each tacit sentiment is served masterfully by a deftly rendered expressiveness that MAY be the series’ most striking artistic virtue.
This is simply a delightful series that seems less concerned with pandering to any particular genre than it is with telling a rich, fully engrossing story. Filled with sympathetic characters, even handed commentary on resonant themes of right and wrong and jaw-dropping art (from two different artists, no less) O31 is one of the most complete and, ultimately, rewarding online books you’re ever likely to read. |

WOW! Thanks for leaving the comment on my site, so I got a chance to check out your work. This is a beautifully drawn comic. Gorgeous detail, unique characters, and some original techniques with blocking and lettering. The settings must take forever to create!
Havent had a chance to read the whole archive, but what I have seen makes me want to read it all , so I will!
Read this, dudes. |

haha!
found out I can come back here and leave another :P One that may do this comic some justice!!
Now that the story's moved on more and introduced pretty much all the main characters ^^ I can add more here.
First off, I love the art style. It's really distinctive, eye-appealing, and while it has enough of an accurate portrayal to real life to get a good attitude for the comic, it's still has plenty of room for strong expressions.
The characters are great! With in-depth personalities and internal struggles to fight against the dark setting around them, they're quickly addicting @.@;;;
I love the dual story arcs going on at the same time by the different artists as well. ^^
Keeps ya stimulated and gives each individual artist time to do their pages without keeping the readers waiting *too* long (any wait at all for this one is agony though lol) |
