Synopsis:
In Masago, the employees deal with troublesome customers and experience the everyday life of working inside of a restaurant. Working in a restaurant isn't only about the hassles of serving tables or troublesome customers, but it is also about the friendships and bonds that are made while working in a dead end job. Occasionally the main characters collectively stave off boredom and adulthood with their antics. The main characters also share they're personal stories outside of the restaurant business and into their lives such as money problems, family drama, and also relationships.

I gotta agree, I get kinda lost in the story at times. Its good and yet confusing all the same.

When I first saw it, I personally didn't like it. However, after reading through the archives, I said to myself " Not bad. In fact it's kinda good!" The artwork of this comic is a positive, and the humor is good when it's ready. However I believe the comic suffers from trying too hard to be funny sometimes.

Consider reading it sometime soon, I guess.

How the hell is this #17...
I really think the rating program this site uses needs a complete overhaul.

Masago is... inconsistent art, a lot of the jokes don't make sense. It's an ok comic, but no way in hell does it deserve to be this high.

LOLOL IS GREAT COMIC!
AceKicker 2/5
I wish I could give it a higher score, but I can't. Sorry, just didn't find it funny. It's not horrible, it's even a little cute. But I've gone through my obligitory time working a restaraunt, and I still don't get it. If I just didn't see the right parts, point them out and I'll re-review it.
Aarin 5/5
I blame it on advertising, or I probably wouldn't have noticed this gem. I've truly enjoyed my time at Masago and hope it keeps up.

The characters are deeper than archetypal cut outs, and don't draw too heavy into their angst. It all has a true back-story developed feel to it.

I’m gonna start with the bad here, in the hope of getting this out of the way…

This comic is not consistent.

At all.

The artwork jumps from being barely passable to being just above brilliant, the humour content ranges from side-splitting to mildly cringe inducing (and more than a little bit pervy), and the storylines themselves may one day be innovative and unexpected, but the next day they will lapse into clichéd one-liners that we’ve seen too many times before.

BUT…

…This is without a doubt one of the most charming, honest, feel-good web-comics out there, and despite its faults, I was clicking away until the end of the archive, and I am hungry for updates.

This comic is like McDonalds… you know it doesn’t compare with a proper restaurant, but it’s addictive, and damn it makes you feel good.

It's not very funny, but it is very likeable.

Masago rocks. A great combination of comedy and social commentary. I love it!
tachikoma 5/5
I like the art style in the comic. The stories are funny and the characters are all likeable. You don't need to have worked at a restaurant to like this comic its enjoyable for everyone.
Illjwamh 3/5
Having worked in a restaurant myself, as well as other venues of customer service, I was laughing my ass off at quite a few of these. Well portrayed, and the art's not bad.
