Synopsis:
A pile of goo that likes to blow things up with a gun that goes THOOM is the title character of this sci-fi romp with a cast of characters that looks like they could come from the cantina in Mos Eisley. Galactic conspiracies abound as this company is just out to make a few bucks, but they often have to clone deceased members after unfortunate mishaps on missions, and keep running into pesky AIs and government officals that don't like their agenda.

Great continuity in the plot, enjoyable jokes, high-quality art, and extremely memorable characters. One of my favorites.
Karandora 5/5
One of my favorite comics by far. Schlock Mercenary is an example of quality Sci-fi. It has a good plot, characters you grow to care about, and, of course, humour. It never insults the reader's intelligence, but is still very readable. If you enjoy hard science fiction and have a good sense of humour, this is the comic for you.

An excellent mixture of humor, plot, graphics, with a side order of sciency footnotes.

Schlock Rocks.
That's simply all there is to say about Howard Taylor's quirky, intelligent, awesome comic. It isn't the sort of thing that will cause you to laugh out loud every strip, but rather is the sort of thing that will cause to simply laugh with delight at the peculiar little inside jokes, and smile knowingly when another Schlock fan mentions something that no one else knows about. You'll pump your hand in the air and yell "YEH, BEH-BEH!" when another "ominous hum" turns into a blast of zappity goodness, and bang your head on the keyboard as a character dies. The characters will soon be ones that you've truly grown to know, and though they get involved in serious storylines that make you think "I want to know what's going to happen!", there's always an undercurrent of the ridiculous humor not far underneath.
Shlock is definitely worth the time. Give it a shot.
Me. 3/5
The author makes enough of an effort to keep each day's comic funny to make it readable, but there are no real standout strips that would elevate it above above-average.

It's a stuff for hard SF fans. That means, lots of science, used with more imagination than in most of hard SF literature. Beats Lary Niven anytime.
Though, for others, it appears to have too much long textual explanation, I skipped a lot of it myself.
