Synopsis:
According to the author:
Wapsi Square follows the day-to-day stories and relationships between a group of five post-college friends and a school teacher-turned-bartender. Amanda is a motherly professional photographer who is convinced the intelligence of the world is dropping but still remains optimistic. Monica is the diminutive museum curator that has yet to realize how cute she is. Jaquline, Shelly, and Owen are the members of the punk band Fermented Banana and good friends of Monica and Amanda.
Various story lines deal with grade school crushes, blind dates, the perceptions of others, and the Aztec god of alcohol.

| This strip was alot better in the early days. I've been reading for months (years?) based primarily on the strength of those earlier strips when there was humor in Tepoz, and waiting for this whole aztec clock thing to resolve itself. The series has gotten away from what made it good and I see no hope for it returning to what it was. |

In case you can't tell from the other comments, Wapsi Square isn't everyone's cup of tea. If you're the type of comic reader that only likes one or two flavors, it's not for you.
On the other hand, if you like some variety, artwork that is it's own style and not "like so-and-so", and writing that exists primarily to tell you about the characters (who they are, why do they do what they do) give this a try.
Do not read one strip and decide you know what this comic is about based on that. Wapsi Square (like much true art) has to be invested in to appreciate. Read a month's worth, at least, before making a decision as to whether or not to follow it. Don't be afraid to refer to the cast page to get a general idea who that character you never saw before is. (Although, there are three "young" ladies that need to be added.)
Is it funny? I don't know. It is to me. It may or may not be to you. If you find some things in life funny, then the answer is yes. If not, then it's no. Keep in mind: "funny" is only part of what makes this comic great. |

| It's okay. It's not bad for humor in the beginning, but after a while it goes from webcomic to online graphic novel. It just gets way to serious for my tastes. I might not look at it every day, but I check up on it once in a while. You know, there are some comics that rise above the others, shining like pearls on a pile of white beads. Wapsi square, however, is not one of them. |

Worth anyone's time, granted it has a WB feel to it...
Whether you like the interaction, the humor, the art, or the fantasy interventions, you have to like something from this comic |

| I love the original feel of Wapsi’s art. It just looks so different compared to the other webcomics out there. He also creates refreshingly vibrant optimistic and vibrant characters seemingly at whim with just a few comics (as seen in the Yoga story arc). I’m also a big fan of his art style for the dramatic flash backs for his more melodramatic story arcs. I wouldn’t want every artist to draw like Wapsi, but I think the webcomic scene would be less enjoyable without it. That said, not all of the story arcs work for me. I’m not a fan of Tepoztecal and I’m only lukewarm about Monica, but this is still great webcomic and a must read for those who read a lot of webcomics and are looking for some variety. |

| It's funny 'cause it's true kind humor, my second favourite. (First one's inoffensive sarcastic remarks) |

| One of my top three favorite comics/artists. Paul Taylor rocks the house and breathes life into the field. |

| Wapsi frustrates me a little...It can't decide if it wants to be funny, a soapy serial, a weird sci-fi/occult thing, or all three. But maybe that's fine. It can be whatever it wants, I guess. The characters are interesting, at the very least, and the way the interact with each other is always unpredictable. The art is also constantly improving. I may not make Wapsi a daily stop, but I do catch up at least once a week. |

| I am completely entranced, this comic caught my eye simply because the main characters aren't completely lost in their little worlds and have some sort of backbone. Then the stories became even more interesting and the drawing style more polished I am hooked and would say to anyone to come and stay a while in wapsi square. You will not be disappointed. |

| Obviously, the previous comentor hasn't been out to the site in a while. The art at WS seems to constantly improve. In the year I have been reading, the art has gone from good to outstanding. The comic is worth reading for that factor alone. |

Occasionally, very charming. Problem is, a few characters the story revolves around, get boring after a while. Problem with art is obvious lack of backgrounds.
Story pacing is very slow, so expect to read through archives very fast. |
