Wow, Falken takes a lot of words to simply say, "I don't like this comic because I'm pretentious."
First off, the writer has NEVER made the claim that He is "so origional." He is simply tellign the story the best way he can, and IMNSHO, He's doing a fine job of it. The writer doesn't have to "prove" anything, all he has to do is write. if you don't like his style, then don't read, simple as that.
Question: How exactly does one read a breadstick? Falken's attempt at pointing out a writing flaw by complaining that a character doesn't use contractions is asinine. I personally know a lot of people that prefer not to speak in contractions, as they feel that it helps them get their point across clearer.
*goes through and rereads the first 10 pages* Well, yeah, there's a lot going on. but you know what? It's not like it's hard to follow or muddied. Every plot development makes sense, and has flow with the overall story. The referenced "You!" isn't egregious at all. Falken is digging for complaints. Granted, he has every right to complain, as this is America and all, But his complaints don't really have the ring of someone giving criticism. More, they simply sound like a hater, trying to bring something good down. |

| So yeah, I was bored, so I gave it a read. I was drawn here because of Booleans comments about Ctrl+Alt+Delete, particularly the ones about how most of the strips are pretty lame, and that the strip jumped the shark a long time ago. Well, after reading Bolleans attempt at a web comic, I can honestly say that he has no room to talk. in the 7 strips that he's posted so far, we've gotten base potty humor, an unfunny pirate joke, and 4th grade sociopoloitical commentary with a base potty humor punchline. I can appreciate Boolean's attempt at "Putting his money where his mouth is," and trying to show the webcomic world "how it's done," but it would appear that Guy and Penguin jumped the shark on December 18th, 2005. |
