Comic: Ravenwood 4/5
You're right, it would be better in print form. I must say, it interests me. the art is spectacular! Somethiing I think I'd buy in a comic book store, though. Needs to update more frequently, though. Just my thought. 4/5 just for the art, story hasn't developed enough to allow a full judgement of it. If it was, it could easily be a 5
Comic: Sexy Losers 3/5
Sadly, I do not like this very much. It's funny, but there are only so many times you can see a bukkake joke before it gets old.
Comic: Perry Bible Fellowship, The 5/5
Very, very funny. However, sometimes it is stupid. Those times are rare. For one who is not easily offended (except at bigotry, which thankfully happens rarely in the webcomics I read, if ever) this is excellent, though some could be offended at certain comics in this strip. I give it 5/5, and that's how it is.
Comic: Filibuster 3/5
I find this to have a right wing perspecive, which sets it apart from many other political webcomics. Maybe I'm just a far-left nut. Anyway, it is very good. I don't keep up with it, but that's because I can only keep up with so many. 3/5
Comic: Checkerboard Nightmare 5/5
I have become a huge, huge fan. The only possible drawback I see is that one must read other webcomics first, so one can get ALL the jokes. However, if you're relatively intelligent, you can get most anyway.
Comic: Elf Only Inn 4/5
Why the flying hell has this not been updated for so long? My's sad. This comic got me into webcomics....or back into. Anyway, 4/5, and it'll go down if it makes it a full year without updates.
Comic: Theater Hopper 3/5
I do agree it's not worth a 5. I find it above average in the writing and artwork area. Nothing amazingly special, but enough to keep me reading. Tom is cool enough, it seems, from his blog entries, for me to ignore his author insertion.
Comic: Wotch, The 3/5
The synopsis is wrong, silly. She's in high school. Anyway, I must be fair. I think this is written for kids. However, it's fairly well done. It's like a more PG rated Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If Xander was changed into a girl at every turn.
Comic: Questionable Content 5/5
Brilliant. My favourite. Its success is well deserved. Here is some critique, though:
The women all seem to be Jeph's wetdreams. While it strives, and succeeds (most of the time) to be realistic, EVERY WOMAN IS HOT, andmost are fun and intelligent, and thus super-desirable, while the men are amazingly nice Marten, and Steve. This is a realm of five lovely and (mostly) fun and smart women (Faye, Dora, Ellen, Ellen's roommate, and Raven) and only one man who's developed as a character (Marten, who I'm told is desirable), and Steve, who is underused. It would be better if there was more balance, though Jeph seems to be attempting to fix this by adding Sven.
As for Pintsize, he's funny, yes, but overrated.
Comic: Dungeon Crawl Inc 2/5
I used to like this. However, though the art went from Baldur's Gate stuff to actual artwork, the writing of the story and the jokes went severely downhill. It's as predictable as the days of the week. Sad.
Comic: Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal
Very well written. However, the site layout is very, very sad, and the author's bonus comics are hit-and-miss. Classic SMBC is mostly gold, Baby Moloch is unfinished, and likely will be forever, Vince Invinceable sucks. SMBC itself is lovely, though. 4/5 for lack of an archive, making the comics hard to navigate, and the updates are so infrequent....yeah. But the comic rocks so hard.
Comic: Ballad 4/5
I do not know why this is so low on the's well written, and quite spooky. Actually, I DO know why. It starts off quite slowly. This might turn some off, but I highlt recommend it. Dead Mouse did well on this one. 4 stars, would be 5 if it was more gripping at the beginning. It took about 20 or so strips for me to really be interested
