Synopsis:
In the beginning, there were Shakra and Halifax – two flatmates in Manchester who enjoyed nothing more than torturing each other, with most of the torturing done by Halifax, a mysterious mono-named character with no discernable past. Shakra, the poor bastard on the receiving end of this sadistic buddy comedy gone awry, was a hapless loser, a 20-something virgin, and masochist who put up with Halifax’s impulsive tendencies .

That is until Halifax’s final insult: cutting Shakra a piece of cake slightly smaller than his own.

Spurred by this, the final straw, Shakra packed up the modicum of dignity he had left and vacated the premises, but not before the arrival of a rather unsuspected, new flatmate, a key to Halifax’s long-forgotten past.

Now, the fun is over. Kali Armin, one of Shakra’s sisters and Halifax’s ex-girlfriend, has joined forces with the vengeful Northolt Fraternity and Ormrod, an old friend turned enemy, to bring about Halifax’s demise. Halifax must rally against old enemies and new demons both internal and external and change himself before his past comes ‘round to destroy his future.

After all, this year, someone will die.

Shit Happens began in December 2003 as a comedy-based web comic, with a darker, dramatic second act. It is the creation of David R. Williams, written by David R. Williams and M. Elizabeth Coy.

Characters include Halifax, Kali Armin, Norman “Ormrod” Hardrada, Holly Qi, Shakra Armin, Tara Armin, Vince the stoner from upstairs, and a cute and lovable cat named Michael Howard, not to be confused with the real Michael Howard, who is neither cute nor lovable and is, in fact, a creature of the night.
