OK, I found my files, so I can play...

This one's from 1993:

For comparison's sake, here is a corresponding page from the relaunch in 2006:

And this one's the most recent page:

Wooo, lots of scrolling! Sorry!

Wow! Even in 1993 the artwork was quite impressive. I love how the level of detail keeps getting better and better!

Comic # 362 - Posted 10/16/2009

(I've gotten on a dark storyline atm so didn't want to post most current comic, but this ones not too far back)

Oh, and this is a glimps of the kind of work I'm doing for VR Comic's sister comic Fantasi

Nice! The silent adventures of a young lass is something I've been trying too, strangely enough. Must study yours.

oo this is really fun.
Sadly, this isn't my first or worst hallhogs comic, but its the first one I have up on the site from 2006:

This is a comic I did for the Fall Edition of a local magazine. (I'm not supposed to post it online yet, but shh. You won't tell, right?)

And this one hasn't had much time to change, but my first comic of Never, posted May 2009:

And a sneak peak at tomorrows comic:

Ttallan, I really hope you do that style of shading again sometime. It looks awesome with your inking!

On my current main comic, the first strip doesn't show much since it's from the main character's perspective, so I'll break the rules a little bit and show the third strip (the first one which shows the character's face):

and the 209th strip:

(The wrinkly one is the main character's mother, who had the main character via parthenogenesis, hence their similar appearances.)

Oh, and for perhaps the most profound difference, my journal comics have changed a lot (since they're more about experimentation). Here's the first one:

and the most recent:

Thanks! Although, actually, I am looking forward to when the characters get out of the dark and I don't have to do the grey tones anymore. It adds like an extra day's worth of work to each page and right now it's killing me! Man, I have no idea how all you guys updating 3+ days a week do it...

This is so neat to see! I want to post mine, but I only have 21 comics, so I feel like it would be a bit premature...

Oh, what the heck!

So far, I think the biggest changes I see are from N9uxu, Jinxtiger and Senshuu. It seems as if their whole style of drawing changed from first to last.

I'll add mine to the list. I've come a long way myself! (tho I've not yet arrived at the station! HAHAHA)

First Strip:

Recent strip with just this character:

I've got a new computer (with vista...there's a learning curve), a new tablet and a newer version of photoshop. I've slid back a bit as I get used to a different "feel" for everything for the last few strips, but I hope to get back up to the level I was before the computer crash soon!

I like threads like this. It`s always nice to see how people`s art evolves and changes over time.

From time to time I take an old cartoon or strip and draw it again. Here some examples:

1990: late 2008:

1998/99: early 2008:

1993:
1996:

Ah, them good ol`times Smile

mil, those are great! The old versions were fun and nice and loose and sloppy, but the new ones don't end up making them all sterile and bland either. Very different takes but both are fine.
