Because that's basically what Lucha Quest is. Five luchadores searching for the 'ultimate move of lucha libre'. They will climb mountains, explore rainforests, and cross deserts; they will encounter rivals, earn scars, and experience the supernatural. Five of them are searching, but only one can learn the ultimate move.

Starring:

Tacto: The de facto leader of the group, mostly against his will. He's a confident, grumpy luchador trying (and failing) to be a silent loner. He seeks the move in order to be the best luchador in the world.

Hija del Sol: Or just Sol for short. Quiet and mysterious, Sol seeks the move to free her village from a gang of bandits.

Vellón: A kind and gentle shepherd from the mountains who worships the way of the técnico. He seeks the move to free an old man in his village from a curse.

Maíz: A cheerful luchadora from the plains with a peppy personality and everything to prove. She seeks the move to prove herself strong enough to make her own life decisions.

Pescado: An insecure luchador from a tribe in the rainforest river basin. He possesses strong leadership qualities, loyalty, and first hand experience with real life myths and legends and still, nobody really listens to him. He seeks the move to unlock the secrets of his family's heritage.

Lucha Quest takes place in an entirely fictional, semi-mythical continent with a geography and history loosely inspired by real life South America. The time period is vaguely Wild West era, but certain areas are more or less advanced than others. Lucha Libre is the basic law of the land, but the rules and styles are different from place to place; the main consistency being the separation of técnicos and rudos. Técnicos, or technicians, utilize spectacularly complex, high flying moves and are essentially the 'good guys' of lucha libre; Rudos use quick, rough brawling moves, are often sneaky and underhanded, and are essentially the 'bad guys'.

Experimenting with a unique page layout, so I figured I’d show you the full page instead of a tiny sample. You can see the full thing, with dialogue, at the link above, but here’s just the art.

Decisions, decisions. Will Vellon be a glory hog and win the whole match by himself, or will he trust in his tag team partner and let Tacto make the finishing moves? Find out on today’s new page at Lucha Quest.
