Thanks. Yeah, finding your way around WCN is much harder then it should be. But there's always the scroll bar and the calendar to help find your way around.

Yeah, the hat is something. In fact, Monique's (artist Monique MacNaughton) nickname for Fiona is "Her Tophattedness". LOL! Smile

There's a new update at The Continentals. Here's the teaser:

"LATE FOR HIS OWN MURDERER!!!"

Lord Ashton discovers that the worst thing about uninvited guests is that they never show up when you don't want them to--Especially when the uninvited guest is a murderer!

It was that blurry tree that gave you eye strain, wasn't it? I'll bet it was. It effected a lot of folks for some reason.

But thanks otherwise. Sorry about the Visine momnet. Smile

There's a new update at The Continentals. Here's the teaser:

"A FOOTSTEP OUT OF PLACE!!!"

A single footstep out of place proves to Lord Ashton that just because he's paranoid doesn't mean a sadistic killer isn't stalking him in the night.

There's a new update at The Continentals. Here's the teaser:

"HELLO DARKNESS, MY OLD FRIEND!!!"

As lord Ashton's paranoia pushes him further and further into madness, making every shadow that moves a murderer, the shadowy killer of his imagination becomes all too flesh and blood.

Confused agent 86 comes off as a rather flat strightman and I don't know what to make of agent 99. Is she playing off agent 86 or is she messing with the inspector. I still don't understand why their even there, the comic has yet to establish their defining character traits, for example if this was Sherlock Holmes, Dr. watson would have exaimned the body and said how and when Lord Percival Ashton died, and Sherlock would described the crime and found a clue the police missed, before interviewing the manservant.

Cool The pacing of the story was good, I liked the artwork , it was very detailed and it had a very professional quality to it. You got the Sherlock Holmes meets James Bond vibe following very nicely.

I publish the webcomic 'The Servant of Cerberus' at phantomspyre.com if you ever feel like it, could you stop and give it a look. I'd like to here your feedback.

Thanks for your comments. I'll try to answer them all.

Smythe (agent 86) is rather cerebral. So being on a crime scene like this is all about figuring it out. Fiona (agent 99) is...well...If Smythe is the brains, she's the muscle and things like this (gathering clues) sort of bore her and she looks to amuse herself sometimes like with the constable. Smythe on the other hand, though a trained fighter, is less comfortable with the type of action that gets Fiona's blood pumping. They're there (as inspector Norfolk says) at the insistence of the Queen. If you read the narrative, this is post Jack the Ripper and Queen Victoria formed The Continentals in part to make sure things like that never happen again.

Smythe and Fiona ARE NOT Holmes and Watson. Holmes is a detective, Watson a doctor. So they would have carried out their investigation pretty much like yo said. Smythe and Fiona are "Agents in her Majesty's service" and have a different way of doing things. But as you'll see, it's really not much different then Holmes in a way. And everything there is to know abut this crime is in the interview now being conducted by Smythe, Fiona, and Norfolk and lord Ashton's dead body on the floor. So, Smythe/Fiona and Holmes/Watson may have different ways of getting there, but I think once revealed you'd agree that they would have drawn pretty much the same conclusions. You'll see. Smile

The problem with the comic is (and yes, I know it's a problem) that one page a week is pretty slow pace for a mystery that makes you want to read more NOW. So we're gonna try to pick up the update pace, but no promises. We'd rather keep an update pace we can sustain then to end up missing updates and disappointing folks because of it.

I'm glad you're enjoying the story and hope you keep up with it AND leave us your comments about it.

Oh, and if you leave me a link to your comic I'll be glad to check it out. Smile

I'll try and give it a peek when I have the time. Monique and I have some BIG things cooking with The Continentals that I'm just DYING to tell you guys about, but I can't just yet. Soon. But not yet. Sigh. Smile

Oh, and it's my birhtday today. I'm 43 years old. Emphasis on the "old". LOL!

There's a new update at The Continentals. Here's the teaser:

"A DEAD IN THE LIFE OF..."

According to his manservant Higgins, lord Ashton's ordinary day as a university professor would prove to be anything but. Because how "ordinary" can a day be--If it includes being stalked by a psychotic killer?

Happy birthday!

I'm liking the story so far, and you've done a good job of capturing the feel of the era with your scripting.

Thanks a lot. Both for the happy birthday and the acknowledgement.

A lot of the time Monique's great artwork seems to overshadow my writing, which is understandable. So it's always nice to hear someone praise my scribbling. There's a lot of hours watching Masterpiece Theatre in all of it. LOL! Smile
