Okay, in November I am attending a large con in the UK, and I have an entire table to myself. It's a big table, I'm a little person. I am going to dedicate a portion of that table to pimping your comic. For free.
Postcards, bookmarks, paper goods. In little stands and displays, with a sign saying "Take one!" and a snappily dressed goth girl pointing them out.
I will also include a leaflet (with the name and url of every site) with everything I sell.

Interested? Here's the deal. You need to tick a these boxes.

Exclamation You must run a family friendly comic and website.
If not, I will plaster a big bold advisory label over anything I produce for you. If you're happy with that, then that's okay.
If you feel it compromises your artistic sensibilities, there's not much I can do for you.

Exclamation You must provide me with the full colour image and description to promote you.
I will create the physical materials. I'll give details lower down.

Exclamation You must have a minimum archive of 30 comics.
This is negotiable, if you are heading towards that number and will have reached it by November, or your comic is spectacular, I will seriously consider it. Why 30? To prove that you will actually exist by the time I reach the con, and will continue updating.

Exclamation You must have your own domain, and your site must be of reasonable quality.
Negotiable (domain). Whilst I would prefer not to be promoting drunkduck.com/ninja_thrashing_monkeys54785 type sites, I'm not going to let budget dictate who gets seen.

What would I want from you?
To start with, show me your comic and site that you would like me to put forward.
Then I would need an image suitable to go on a postcard or bookmark (front) and a description (back).
I would need this by (at the very latest) the last day of October. A good example would be your logo, your main characters, a small comic example, or something snappy.
I'll provide you with details on a need to know basis.

I am a graphic designer by trade, so I can work with pretty much any image, and make your materials. But one with the correct proportions to start with would be stellar. At the end if there are any left, I can post them to you for your own delectation, or carry on stuffing them into my merch when sold online.

Hey, that's an excellent idea, and very generous of you, to boot! I'd really like to take part, if that works for you.

I think... I think I qualify for those requirements... family friendly... archive of more than 30... yep. I fit.

Well I've been on at Wendy for some time to let me promote her like this, so she knows she's got my approval. Wink Just gotta pick a site.

I think your comic is a good dose of fun. Smile
Your characters have a real down to Earth, but totally cartoon feel to them. That's an appalling sentence, but you know what I mean.

As it's a UK con, if you submit an image/description, please really play up the sports element, it'll go down a treat.
We're fascinated by sports we only see on TV and don't really get to play.
It'd also be something great for the parents who've been dragged in by kids dressed as Naruto, and are desperately trying to find something they want to look at.

An aside to everyone: I know not everyone has time to create a "new" image for something like this. Which is why I'm both bringing it up in June, rather than October, and offering to re-size and meddle with existing artwork to get something you're happy with.

Wow. This is quite an offer. Usually I would say...what's the catch? I would do it though. As long as the catch is not trading my soul. Smile Wink

Oh, that sounds very promising. If there's a space for me, I'd like to be a part.

That said, where is this con?

The catch is you'll never be able to fathom why I'm doing it. It may drive you insane. Or keep you awake at night. Or cost you the job you've held down for years.
It's just a risk you have to take.

That does sound terrifying. But that's a risk I'd dare to take. Razz

This sounds like a nice opportunity to get the word out to a different audience. It's nice of you to do!

It's Leeds Thought Bubble Convention. The site isn't up to date at the moment (and to be honest doesn't do the scale of the thing justice). It should be updated for guests to read by September.

Wow, that's insanely nice of you. Smile I'd love to jump in if that's all right. I don't have a family-friendly comic, mind, but I don't particularly care about the advisory (and obviously I'll be sure the art and text are safe...)

Thanks!

Awesome thing for you to do, dude. I'm interested, if that's okay. My comic isn't family friendly, (I'd say it's about a PG-13 level) but I have no problem at all with an advisory label.
