I drew this little number close to the release date of TMNT. I was excited.

Elfkin, that green dude reminds me of Guildwars. Which I haven't been on for rather too long. Oops.

Regarding your alien mechanic and people wanting her blonde and big-breasted: When will men learn that thin girls have small breasts? And that breast implants look stupid and no sane girl who is secure in herself would have them.

Also, re your other chappie with his crossed arms and purple/green (octarine, anyone?) top, how to hell did you get so damn good at faces? That guy's face looks almost like a photo.

He still looks really awesome.

Damn, I wish I could use Photoshop.

Damn, I wish I had Photoshop on my computer so that I could learn to use it.

Just a little something I used when applying to one of my schools:

Don't really like the coloring so I'm thinking about redoing that.

I put more work into designing these guys than I probably should have. The one in front shows up in three panels, and the other two in only one. (And small panels at that.) So I thought I'd show them off in the show off thread. Smile

Didn't VGCats use to have a "alien wing-wong" t-shirt?

If that's the reaction I get to a pseudo-17th century style, I can't help wondering what the response would have been if I had gone pseudo-tudor instead.

This is a silly little sketch I made as a reaction to an article about the evils of Harry Potter

Shocked

He really is evil. Aaaahhhh! I knew it! I knew it the very first time I got a rejection slip that said "this sounds too much like Harry Potter" on it.

(For a story that had essentially nothing in common with Harry Potter except for the genre and that they both use the words wizard and school -- although not to describe the same things.) :grumble, grumble:

Which is a bit odd when every single children's fantasy book has "It's kind of like Harry Potter!" slapped across the front in larger lettering than the actual title. I would've thought that they'd love to see something similar to Harry Potter. Their loss, I guess...

It was odd. It was also extremely annoying. I wrote the book in question before I had ever heard of Harry Potter, and I didn't appreciate the apparent assumption that it was a cheap (and hurried) knock off.

I never again used the words wizard and school in the same query letter.

I don't know if being like Harry Potter is a good thing or a bad thing, but you lose on both counts if the editors think it will be like Harry Potter when it isn't.

Excepting the outfit, he looks pretty much like Sean from my comic. Wink
