Post here if your comic's profile on TWCL is fishy.
(because we can't fix your comic if it's actually broken, that's up to you)

Make sure to include:

URL to the comic profile
URL to the comic
The problem...

As usual, for fastest service it'd be best to email ash: ash@this site

Edit + explanation:

The best, and I mean "close to the only working-" way to get any problem fixed is to email ash at ash@ this site.
Even though he's a busy monkey, he now employs people to read his email so your problem will at least be noticed pretty quick.
Depending on the problem it could take a while to get sorted.

A way to make absolutely sure that the crawler bot (or wriggler bot as we call it these days) notices updates, even when you change your site layout pretty often is to include a comment with the date of your last update, like:

<!-- updated: 28-03-07 -->

This means a little more work for you (or your techie minions) but at least you can mess around with your comic page without the site getting confused.

A while back I added new navigation buttons to my site and it changed the status to "pattern not matching." I would like it fixed up please.

I've edited the first post to provide more information.
I can not help you personally with the functioning of the site itself, so I strongly advise to contact the admin, our beloved Ash.

I can't do anything about the functioning of the site itself, and Ash is usually too busy to check the forums. As far as I know Ash is looking for a new minion to help out, who'd be able to have a look at this section once in a while.

Until then I'd strongly suggest sending all your problems by email.

About a month ago I changed domains from Comicgenesis (continually craps out) to Blogspot.
I was hoping to have my profile reflect this to help maintain my readership.

Thank You!

My profile page has reflected my change from comicgenesis to blogspot (thank you!), but this site seems to be unable to read when the comic updates.

Is there anything you can do?
Thank you!

I've just recently purchased a domain name, and was hoping that while I'm overhauling my site to make it more professional I might also be able to resolve my comic's "not checked for updates" status on this site.

I'm currently hosting the comic on blogger, and redirecting the new domain name there (thats http://www.magikalrealism.com pointing at http://www.magikalrealism.blogspot.com ). There is a clearly updating archive of comics there http://www.magikalrealism.com/search/label/Webcomic ) though its sectioned off because there are other things hosted on the main site.

I've entered all of this stuff into the comic profile, and updated it when I moved, but either the status of the new comic wasn't changed or the same problem is persisting.

I'm no computer genius, but if the problem is at my end and someone could give me some pointers then I'd like to look into resolving it. Otherwise I'm going to be employing a friend to redesign the site when I move to my own hosting, rather than blogger, so if someone could identify the problem I could pass it to him to resolve.

Cheers guys

I had this same problem. If you're hosting your site on Blogger or Blogspot, you need to insert this line of code into your front page's HTML so TWC's bot can easily find when you last updated.

<!-- Last Update: 16/07/2007 -->

And then just update the date whenever you update your comic.
Works Great!

Thanks very much for your help mate. I've made the change in the HTML. How do I now get the web comic list to change/re-consider my status so that it starts noting my updates? Or do I just wait for the next time the crawlers check my site?

If all goes to plan, just sit back and wait.

I added this site last week and updated the HTML with this line of code which has worked recently for my other Blogspot based comic
<!-- Last Update: 30/07/2007 -->
It still shows it hasn't updated.

Anything you can do to help me would be appreciated!
Thank You!

There's some problem with mine as well. It says Pattern not matching since I redesigned the site for SL.

My profile doesn't show that 67th Avenue was updated on Sunday, September 30.

I haven't changed the layout or anything, so I don't know what's up.
