Ah, but I wanted to be able to use one of them. () You mean I have to go back and favorite all those comics a third time...?

Oh well, I am bored lol. And I do get why you had to wipe 'em both (enigmatic demon clones! both are evil!). Thanks!

Oh, I just got this message when trying to update my username:

...Buuut it seems to have worked, so I'm not going to worry about it lol. |D

ACTUALLY...it looks like the old account is still here. http://www.thewebcomiclist.com/users/33276 Should I just ditch one of them so they can be deleted?

So I finally got tired of my comic profile having the status of Not Checked For Updates, so I came to this thread to see what I could do about it.

Looking at the first page, I saw jreinsch post and updated my site to always post the last update date, like so:

Code:
<!-- Last Update: 28/03/2008 -->

I was just curious if this is all I need to do to fix this status? Like, is the crawler still out there checking and will it see this update, or do I need to contact someone to get the crawler kick started again?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You can increase your chances by clicking the "report broken comic" in the menu to your left.

(that's over there <--- in the Navigation panel)

Doing this after you added the <!-- Last Update: 28/03/2008 --> has worked very well for many people.

Hi,
My site used to be fine...but now even if I changed the url the updates don't appear anymore.... say...not checked for updates! why...?
there's no flash and it's all fine for the qualification required etc...

I'm confused...

For my webcomic I do use the wordpress platform.. which seem don't allow me modify php scripting.
Since I've set to show only one strip per page I thought this way would work:

put the code
Code:
<!-- Last Update: 18/06/2010 -->

directly in the post, so I can use the shedule system to make appear the exact date of the scheduled strip.
The status is still "Not Checked For Updates" and I would like to know if this way would work... also if the crawler take in account only the home page (otherwise it would the old update codes for the previous post).

btw: tomorrow (1Cool will appear my next strip which change the "!last update" code.

3 days ago I paid the 15 dollars to advertise my comic on top of the webcomiclist index, but it doesn't seem to be there. Nor do I have a a sudden spike in my daily views.

So does it take some time to process the payment or is it something else...?

The webcomic was Zombie Waffe

Hi Detlef,
Unfortunately this is a question we can't help you with.
Could you please send this question to ash@thewebcomiclist.com ?
They should be able to help you out in no time (hopefully).

Hey there - I'm new around here, but I've tried to find a solution for this on my own & have come up empty.

My problem is my webcomic is hosted on WordPress + Webcomic + Inkblot, but my thewebcomiclist shows 'Not Checked For Updates' in green, meaning it'll never be updated due to an incompatibility.

I've seen this in an earlier comment:

Frumph wrote:
ComicPress 2.9.2.20 will have this:

Code:

<!-- Last Update: <?php the_time('M jS, Y'); ?> // -->

In the header, so you won't have to worry about re-adding it every time.

Is this also a solution for my WordPress + Webcomic + Inkblot setup? If so, where should it go?

If not, what can I do, even if it means adding something manually with every update?

Thanks - this seems to be a good community.

Thank-you, Zoe, for the WordPress advice.

I suppose I'll wait a week or so to see if the crawler updates on its own before putting out a call to Ash.

Hey guys! I have added my site www.balderduck.com on the webcomiclist.

This is the url:

I get a "Pattern Not Matching" status... Can you help me? what should I do to fix it?

This post appears to have the fix for sites running ComicPress:

http://www.thewebcomiclist.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=112351#112351

Note that after you've got your code configured and working, you need to come to TWCL and use the "Report broken comic" link in your comic's TWCL entry to get their spider to start checking it again.

Hey, how do I change my signature on this forum?
I tried to go to Profile, but it leads me to the TWCL profile, not the forum profile and I can't seem to find anything related to signature.

I noticed recently my comic listing was no longer being checked for updates. When I inquired as to why, Norah was able to help me with this letting me know its because I needed to have <!-- Last Update dd/mm/yyyy --> in the HTML code for the page listing the last date the comic was updated. Simple enough except that I use Drupal, the only HTML code on the site is generated via PHP scripts.

After a few days of testing, a little research on PHP script sites, and more help from Norah; I was able to piece together the right PHP code which updates the date code automatically every time I post a new comic, and the right placement of the code to get my site to work with the TWCL system.

So if you are running a webcomic on Drupal 7 you can insert this code into your theme's "html.tpl.php" document just after the <body> tag but before the </body> tag and it will update the date stamp in the generated HTML on it's own every time a new comic node is created:

<?php
// get date of most most recent change to a node
$result = db_query('SELECT title, changed FROM {node} WHERE status=1 ORDER BY changed DESC LIMIT 1');
$node = $result->fetchObject();
$date = date('d/m/Y', $node->changed);
echo "<!-- Last Update: $date -->" ;
?>

Hi. I have sent messages requesting help for the avatar and signature but I haven't received any reply from the staff, yet. There's still someone in charge of this?

Thank's for the help you can provide.
