Once in a while.

It's when daddy network and mommy network have a little argument. They decide to spend some time away from each other, and the users go either with daddy network or mommy network.
So they'll be apart for a short while.
But don't worry, daddy network and mommy network still love each other very much, so daddy network will stop sitting on the couch all day eating nachos and mommy network will stop visiting her mother and they'll come back together and live happily ever after until the next little fight about who gets the remote now.

I still suspect either ash or evilcouch is involved, but have no proof. Yet.
