Registration is now open for the Web Comic Secret Santa Exchange and this year I'm in charge! Very Happy

The Web Comic Secret Santa is, as you might expect, a secret santa exchange where webcomic creators get assigned (in secret) a comic to produce a page, strip or image for as a Christmas gift.

You need to hyave a currently ongoing comic with at least 20 pages (proper pages - that doesn't include title images, filler sketches or guest comics) and registration is open between now and the 5th of December.

Additionally, if you don't have a qualifying comic you can still help out by becoming a Safety Net Elf, which is basically someone who sits in reserve ready to come to the rescue in case anyone can't get their gift in for whatever reason.

If that sounds at all interesting to you check out the link below:

There's also an official Twitter account that you can check out at this one:

I could probably give "Safety Net Elf" a shot if you need one. What's the schedule look like on that, any idea? How much warning we'll get if we're needed or not, time to completion, etc?

I'd like to give it a shot, but my turnaround time may be unreliable. How long between when you will distribute the Secret Santas and the due date of the comic?

I did this last year, and had fun doing it. Why not do it again.

That's a tough one. The very latest that a safety net assignment could be sent out is the 20th. Ideally, if people can't do their assignment they'll let me know before that, but there's no guarantee that people won't make out everything's fine then drop out at the last moment.

There are a couple of people signed up as elves so if someone drops out too late for one person to take over that's not a problem and last resort I stay up all night drawing one myself.

Assignments will be handed out on the 9th, maybe a little earlier and the deadline is the 19th. If the 19th comes along and you're really, really close to finishing then a day or two extra is possible, but yeah, the 19th is the deadline.

Also, also registrations close at the end of day on Thursday, so anybody who wants to sign up had better do it soon. Smile
