I've been out of comics for many years, and I'm looking to get hooked back in.

Suggestions, please!

Webcomics: too many to mention. But here are some:
False Positive
6 Commando
Elf
Destructor
Oyster War
The Clandestinauts
Gastrophobia
Vattu
Let's stop here, I'm tired of getting all the links.

Comics in print: I mostly follow 'Hellboy' related titles ('B.P.R.D.', 'Witchfinder' and other spinoffs), but also 'Rachel Rising' (by Terry Moore) and 'Orc Stain' (by James Stokoe - it's been on hiatus for way too long, though, not sure what's going on with that). Until recently 'R.A.S.L.' by Jeff Smith ('Bone'), but that's ended. I've been meaning to get 'Prophet' by Brandon Graham and various artists. It looks amazing. Everything by Simon Roy looks really good to me. And Farel Dalrymple. And Paul Pope. I also really like Michael Deforge. And Guy Davis. And ahhhh I'm not sure how I'm supposed to make time for any of these!

Man... that's a lot of stuff to review... THANKS! Very Happy

By the way, that's not the first time R.A.S.L. came up! I gotta look into it!

Thanks again!

Romantically Apocalyptic
Roomhates - also hilarious, but still too new

Man, I read too many to count them all... mostly gag-a-day... I don't really read many story comics just 'cause I'm so busy with 3 kids around the house and all. But I do have a big list of comics on my site...

http://www.woohooligan.com

Just mouse over the "moar comics" label in the menu at the top, you'll see my big list.

I've found a lot of the comics that I read via Just the First Frame

Just check out my links page:

http://maytiacomic.com/links

I put some effort into making it look nice and clear, with showing a sample of the artwork, an update rate, and a personal recommendation level.

Of course, putting in that much effort takes time, so the list is incomplete. I try to add a new comic each week but I took a break from those efforts while between chapters.

I *suppose* one could also look at my Comic Rocket list, but that actually has the exact opposite problem. That list also contains many comics where I'm still reading through the archives, including some that I saw, added so I would come back to read it, but still never actually read any of it and as such I might not actually like it.
Pretty much every comic whose author visits this forum is in that latter-most category.

I link to all the comics I'm currently reading and invested in on my own links page too (albeit with no words of explanation, just banners)-- pretty much all of them are long-form comics (mostly fantasy, with a few sci-fi and horror stories thrown in), with strengths in worldbuilding, action, storytelling style/plot, characters, or art; humour is nice if present but not necessary for my enjoyment.

To link a few I'm reading that haven't been specifically mentioned already:

Godsend
Unsounded
SpinDrift
A Red Tail's Dream
Derelict
Prague Race

You can also check my links page at my comic, but here are kind of my favorites right now:

I read the excellent sci-fi Power Nap, currently one of my favorites
Then we have the Atomic Laundromat, very funny and addictive superhero deconstruction.
I recently started Battle Pug and I think it is quite different, gotta love the sarcasm.
I recommend checking Tinkers of the Wasteland, this comic recently ended but the overall story and art is magnificent.
I love Coma, about a teenager trapped in the dreamworld, quite imaginative; problem is that it is Spanish only.
Then there is Deliree, which I shamelessly plug because it is created by my artist, Danie. Not your typical fairy tale.

Of course, I always check Her Majesty no More, Gobber and Cindy, Pear Pear and Doodling around, from the fine people in this forum.

Cheers from the Hippo

What I really like about this thread is everyone's list is so different from each others. A lot of these I haven't heard of before.

I read a good deal of the ones done by users at this forum here. Not everyones, but mostly the people who actively chat and don't just come here to post new updates. I'm not going to list them because I don't want to forget someone. Sad

There's more on my links page on my site, but here's some I read from outside the forum, that I feel like listing:

Drunkards of the Cosmos
Liminal
Gunnerkrigg Court
Dr. McNinja
Manly Guys Doing Manly Things
Beret
Reptilis Rex
Sam and Fuzzy

If you only look at one link on my list, make it either Drunkards or Beret.

Darths and Droids and Blue Milk Special are my favorite Star Wars parodies!
