Hi everyone,

I've been thinking about doing this for a while now and would like to know how many of you would be interested in joining a webcomic banner exchange.

Basicly, you place a bit of code on your site that will display a banner of another member of the exchange, and every time the banner is displayed or someone clicks on it you earn credits that will place your own banner on other member's sites. (like FantasyBanners.com and such)

I've not been able to find such a thing that's exclusively for webcomics since Rubifruit died, but if there already is one, please let me know XD

Thanks, but that's not really what I mean though. What they're discussing is a link exchange, I'm talking about a fully automated script that will rotate banners on your site Smile

I think I get what you're looking for. Back when I was on Keenspace (back when it WAS "Keenspace"), they had a service where you could upload your banner to a database and random banners from that database would show up on your site if you inserted a snippet of code.

As far as I know, there's no independent service that does this. However, it would be really cool somebody made one.

Ok, I'll think I'll do this then in the near future! Very Happy

Just a question though, how important would it be for you guys to only display comics that are of the same genre of your own? I wouldn't have problem with displaying anything on my site, but then again, my interests are all over the place XD

I made a webcomic rotator for my front page when Rubifruit went down. It's a bit of a clunky code but it works and I will add people to it. Cool

And yes, ComicGenesis still has that rotator. Smile

I will join it probably, considering it works well. All genres are good.

Yes, I will be hosting this thing myself. To be honest, I don't excpect this thing to be a major success overnight, and my own website isn't all that popular at the moment, so I literally have tons and tons and tons of leftover bandwidth each month. Smile

Did this ever materialize into anything?

For the record, I don't think any specialization is necessary. Everyone has something to gain from a free, open advertisement.

I finally finished it!

Check out the kappukoohi webcomic banner exchange and join if you want to :3

I decided on small button style banners, because after browsing the sites of everyone that replied in this thread, that seemed like the easiest to implement (in sidebars, etc.).

If anyone finds any bugs or errors, do tell Very Happy

Hmm.... intriguing! I'm about to recode my site (or might be... ahaha if I had a dime for every time I've said this...), so I won't join right now, but I might do so once I'm done. :D

There is an active and strictly comic oriented banner exchange with Inkoutbreak.

http://inkoutbreak.com/

You can check my site if you're curious to see it in action. I do get about 10-20 referrals a day and my site is still fairly new. It's coded in a way that the more exposure you give, the more exposure you get. That entices more established comics to join in and they do get the lion's share of exposures, but it also means you have a better chance of getting seen on one of the big comics.

My site is http://julea.kinslayer.com for my webcomic Kinslayer ( http://www.thewebcomiclist.com/p/22998/Kinslayer )

They also have a very active community with some veterans of the webcomic community along with a reader, convention schedule, and some other really neat stuff with more being added all the time. I'm not really advertising for them, it's just a really good resources webcomickers should take advantage of.
