MILESTONE REACHED.

13th comic! Wow!

When I started “Webcomic Pete” I never thought, you know, I’d hit the big one-three. When I began this project, I wasn’t thinking about numbers at all, but you do one, then another, then another, and one day you look up and, holy shit, you’ve got three. Repeat that four times, then do one more, and bam, thirteen.

I’d like to thank all the haters and the doubters for providing me the motivation to go on back in the dark days (Webcomic Pete 5-6). All I ever heard was you can’t do it, you’re wasting your time, your comic isn’t funny, don’t forget to brush your teeth at least twice a day. How do you like me now, mom?

Were there times I didn’t think I could make it? Hell yeah. A lot of times it was things totally outside my control. The Great drought of aught-January 16. The Great Sniffles Outbreak of aught-January 22-24. The Great “Anti-gay activist to write Superman” shitstorm of aught-February 17-18. And of course the ongoing Oscar snub of Ben Affleck.

And there have been personal matters to deal with that could have derailed this whole crazy ride right at the start. Criminal trespass accusations, restraining orders, stalking charges. Thanks again, mom.

What does the future hold for old Webcomic Pete? Who knows! All I know is I’m not going to let this milestone go to my head and get me all pumped up like I’m a big deal or something. I’m just going to put my head down and keep grinding, crank out number 14, 15, and 16, and somewhere down the line I’ll look up and bam, I’ve got at least 23 or so. After that, I don’t know. I’ll probably get bored or discouraged with it and move on to something else. Because honestly I’m kind of lazy and I get fed up with things easily and I have a short attention span.

I’m sorry, who said what now?
