Please help. My page gets four hits a day on average, but people stay for an average of one minute. I know my talents are not great but they have gotten much better than when I started. I would appreciate any constructive ideas on why.

I clicked on the current comic panel thinking this might reveal a bigger strip or take me to the next comic panel, but Photobucket didn't like this, "Photobucket exception - The action that you were trying to perform has failed."

If you haven't already, consider putting your comic (or shadows of your comic) up on comic display sites, e.g. and to name but a few,

^Truth. It's pretty normal for comics to get way more hits than readers, a lot of them are spiders. If you want more readers, try driving up your traffic.

Though honestly I suspect that's only part of your problem. If you want people to read your comic, you need to pretty it up and make it more accessible. The art on the comic itself is not horrible, but looks kind of sparse just floating there in the middle of a white void with no backgrounds or borders or colors or other graphics of any kind, just plain text instructions on how to read your webcomic (which in itself is kind of odd). The only color or decoration of any kind appears to be your ad banner, and you generally don't want the reader's eye to be drawn immediately to a link that'll take him away from your comic. Spend some time not just with the comic (though that wouldn't hurt) but with the page it's being displayed on, as well, because they're both part of the presentation.

I think a casual reader might be deter by seeing the instructions on the screen, especially if they are an ESL student.

So maybe you could have it say "Select Language" at the welcome screen, and then people could then pick from the comics that they want to read.

I agree with all of the above. The art is overwhelmed by the text and it takes too many clicks to get to the older comics. It's your page and your interface that need work.

Everything above sounds good, but building readership takes time, patience, luck and some marketing. Not to mention that the webcomics market in general has overflowed in the past few years, so the competition has increased exponentially.

Have you shared your link at ESL sites?
