For the past 16 weeks, my writer William Tooker, my letterer, McLain McGuire and I, have been posting our new webcomic, Mythica. Already in the first 16 weeks we have seen Scottish warriors, demons, death, dismemberment, and perhaps even a bit of magic. Not to mention an attractive young woman from Belgium. Please take a moment to stop by and let us know what you think.

A new page of Mythica is up!
Here is the teaser:
Kimberly continues her dream about the Scottish warrior called Magnus. She now introduces a new character that may or may not be there to help Magnus.
Check out what it's all about.

So we are taking the first issue of Mythica to the Image comics Expo next week. I'm anxious to see what they think. In the mean time I'd like to hear what YOU think of Mythica so far. |

The art is really beautiful and lush. Your action poses are really dynamic. Have you considered using a different font? It doesn't seem to fit the heavy drama. |

Thanks for the kind words. I have not considered using a different font. Do you have any suggestions? |

Take your pick of comic style fonts.
The art in your strip is totally gorgeous and I'm a sucker for medieval style battles! You're a damn good artist my friend. |

MattCampbellArt: Go to the site antleornardi01 recommended. Choose or mix and match from these ones:
Atland - Might be too bold, but worth a try on action scenes
Webletterer - Good workhorse
Bottle Rocket - Good if you would rather fit lots of text in a bubble.
Piekos Pro - I'm iffy on this one, but it might fit.
Cloudsplitter - Which might be good for lowercase use.
I would try the freebie ones first. Just re-letter some pages to compare with the current lettering and see what works best. |

Thanks for the info on the fonts vaslittlecrow and antleonardi01.
I discussed it with the rest of the creative team and we like the Atland font. We are going to run some tests with it.
Unfortunately, the first run of comics has already been printed but we are discussing whether to change it for the second run and then keep it from here on out or not.
ON a different note. Today marks the last page of issue #1 on the webcomic. So excited to see it coming to life!

We leave for Oakland in three days to meet with some publishers including Image and IDW. I'm going in with the expectation that even if they like it they are probably going to tell us to come back when we have a few more issues done. I feel this way to to a long discussion that i had with Rob Guillory (artist from CHEW)
In any case, I am still excited to have been invited out to Oakland and to be showing them my labor of love. As the say hope for the best, expect the worst right? |

Also I would like to plug Press Gang Studios for their fine fonts.
They have a badass Adam Warren font. |
