God, this reminds me of my job. I work in a lab with mostly female staff company-wide so these tropes apply, well besides the dad thing, I hope.

Ahh you forgot to add in the useless characters shoved into a show.
In so many animes they shove some useless animal/fairy/child into it, who are supposed to help the protagonists in some way but in all logical sense there's no way they could.

Good examples:
Puck- Berserk (manga)
That lion bear thing- Bleach (god that show sucked)
Teenagers- Transformers shows
Chris- Sonic X (not a great show either)

Games:
----------
Chu- Xenogears
Chip- Sonic Unleashed

They shove 'em in for some sort of comedy relief but they're just bloody annoying or ruin the show/game. There's a lot I've probably left out because I've stopped watching new animes/playing new JRPGs for ...some reasons.

But before I drag this post on any longer, a fun read despite me being out of date with these things. Desu :U

Haha yeah this is a good point. It's more of a personal "top five" -- my five favorite tropes. I may have to revisit this idea and include that though!

Indeed, that's a top five for you but tthat is a big killer for me with anime/games. If you want me to take your show seriously don't have a 5 yearold helping out actual able-body fighters, or ..you know a stuffed doll :U.
