|
|
I'm new here, and I'm seeking to network and build contacts in webcomics. I've recently started my own webcomic (since March), and I'd like to know if there is anyone here with horror/fantasy webcomics, so I could get in touch and network with them?
My own work is basically a "demo" where I'm allowing myself to make misktakes and inconsistencies (it being my first comic ever), but I would still love to spread it around and see what kind of feedback I can get. Perhaps some people avidly following if they like it, even!
Though to my original question - any webcomic artists/writers with horror/fantasy webcomics in the house? |

My web comic falls pretty solidly in just the 'fantasy' category. I don't know if that's too far out from what you are looking for. Any chance of a link to the comic itself?

Sure thing - http://wildman-shedevil.smackjeeves.com/comics/1461131/intro-page-1/
The whole thing is a "demo", since I'm new to making comics and I'm allowing myself to make mistakes and inconsistencies. When it's all done, I hope to take into account what worked (for myself and others) and what didn't, so I can refine it. |

Oooohoho, it looks very interesting.
I feel self-conscious in saying this, but my story's also set in Russia, albeit it references Northern European tales as well (which is actually a key part of it, to be revealed later on...)
I'm also wondering how much my lack of in-depth research will show, as I go along. :s |

My comic fits into the fantasy horror genre, although I haven't updated it since 2009. It's one of those perpetual "I'm about to do a comeback" things.
Not sure what kind of networking I can give you, but I do love to talk. _________________ |

Ann-Cygnus: Actually, if you EVER need research help, let me know. Research is what I love!!! If it makes you feel better, when I first did RaspCat, I knew very little about Russia beyond what I learned from my friend in high school and casual reading. That's why I eventually rebooted it. And no, your perceived lack of in-depth research does not show at all. I read every page and the story is far too interesting for me to focus on that. Also, I would be delighted to trade links with you if you so desire. Horror webcomickers who deal with stories in Russia are few and far in between, so we have to help each other out.
Also, if you are interested, I also have another webcomic that's more of a drama with supernatural elements which is a spinoff of RasCat at http://barxotka.com/ which you may want to check out. _________________ Visit Catnose Comics and Velvet Rasputin to see my comic art and graphic novels. |

I hope my recent pm has come through.
Also - as a general note, can we all share our tumblr/twitter/art website links in this thread? Everyone cool with that? |

It did. We've been in the middle of putting in a new central heating and cooling system. The studio and house have been in total disarray. As soon as I catch up with tasks and get some rest, I will give your PM the detailed response it deserves.
