Hey gang! My webcomic "King of the Unknown" recently launched so here is the Season 1 promotional image for it. If you like what you see then check out http://www.kingoftheunknown.com for more and join us on Tuesdays and Fridays for comic updates.

Still haven't gone and checked it out and need more convincing? Well, here's some more info to tell you what it's about then:

In a world where everything we’ve been told is not quite what it seems and danger lurks around every corner, there is only one man who can save us from the impending apocalypse: The King of the Unknown!

But there are some threats even the King can’t handle alone, and that’s when he calls on the Masters of the Unknown: a ragtag team of mythological comrades that he’s assembled over the years to put the dark forces of the supernatural in their place. From deep inside the hidden headquarters of the Institute for Research and Study of the Unknown (IRSU), the King leads this elite team of legends. Always at his side are his good friend Leonardo Da Vinci (his spirit in a robot body, to be exact), Grace Connor, the group’s latest specialist in cryptozoology (and object of the King’s romantic advances), and Agent H, head of a secret branch of the CIA and one-time rock icon. With these guys on the case, the forces of evil don’t stand a chance!

Just thought I'd drop a quick post here to let everyone know that new pages go up on Tuesdays and Fridays, and today is...Tuesday!

Check out the new page at http://www.kingoftheunknown.com!

Also, for anyone that's interested, King of the Unknown has a Facebook page as well with a few extras that aren't on the website: https://www.facebook.com/KingoftheUnknown

All right! With today's page we finally get the rest of the cast, even if it is just a brief glimpse, but we'll see more of them on Tuesday's page. http://kingoftheunknown.com/?webcomic_post=page-8-the-gangs-all-here

Also, if anyone has been following along with the comic, I'd love to hear your feedback on it so far.

Thanks!

This is a weird, well-crafted comic. I was immediately interested in the DaVinci robot and I think it works well with the more traditional style of the other characters. The website has excellent design and was easy to navigate. I like the premise, but the narrative and characters are a bit muddled. It's not clear to me where the storyline is headed. Definitely worth checking out.

Hey Nils, uh...Balls...thanks for checking out my comic and for the critique, I really appreciate it! Yeah, so far DaVinci (or "Vinny" as King calls him) seems to be the fan favorite character, though as time goes on I think people will grow to be fans of all of them. The excellent and easy to navigate webdesign is all thanks to the talented Michael Sisk ( http://mgsisk.com/webcomicms.net/ ) Making awesome websites is what the guy does for a living. As for the narrative and characters, since this is a long form webcomic and not a strip a day type of deal, as the story progresses you'll find out where it's going and who the characters are. Right now it's only 9 pages into the story (10 on Friday,) so it's still pretty early, but basically the first 43 page story is a day in the life of King rather than an origin story of sorts, which means I would have had to have placed the story decades earlier if I had gone that route. Instead I opted to place it during the present and try to give each character a rich background history that the reader will learn more about as the story progresses and as the story dictates.

Anyway, I hope you'll continue to follow the comic every week, because with what I have planned, it's just going to keep getting better and better.

Thanks again for checking it out!

With this week's page the King is on the scene investigating a decapitated granny CSI style...except it doesn't suck like CSI. That is some horrible, horrible television right there folks.

I haven't read through all of it by far, but It is nice there is someone else outside who likes comics with references to pop-culture. Bye the way, is there any chance that Agent H is modelled after Jason King?

Hey Uncle Greedy! Thanks for checking out the comic! Yeah, as the comic continues there will definitely be a few references to pop culture in there, but I'm hoping to have references that you don't typically find in webcomics or other media even, because of their over use (like video game references in webcomics.)

As for Agent H, he is actually based off of Jimi Hendrix. In the comic he underwent a similar program as the King, as the IRSU tried to recreate the same "celebrity operating in plain site" secret agent success they had with the King. More info on all the characters can be found in their Cryptid files in the "About" section of the website. A few hints at future storylines can be found in those as well.

Thanks again for checking out the comic, hopefully you'll continue to do so every Tuesday (when it updates) as I have some big plans for it, and it's going to be getting really good in the next few weeks.

Ah, I should have recognized Agent H, as it now sounds very obvious. But as I said, I just had started reading it. I always thought to have Arthur Brown in one of mine as character, though he is still alive. (I always had the feeling that Marylin Mansion is just a late imitation of Arthur Brown.)
If you do like references to rock music, take a look here and see if you can guess some.

I haven't even read the comic yet and I'm already laughing!

Can't wait to read it.

I LOVE references to rock music, but even I'm out of my depth with the amount in that pic. What's the link to your webcomic Uncle Greedy? This has my interest piqued.

MGS (that doesn't happen stand for Metal Gear Solid by any chance, does it?) I think if you like that tag line and think it's funny, then you'll definitely enjoy the odd humor in the comic. I should warn you though, page 18 that will be posted in a few weeks is pretty out there, and extremely horrifying. You've been warned, hah.

The comic links are:
http://zodiakoverun.de/BadMoonOnWeb01.htm
(the older part, more based on the older fanzine)
http://zodiakoverun.de/BadMoonOnWeb42.htm
(the later part, timetravel to victorian times).

As for the the sgt. Pepper cover, there are Arthur Brown and Roger Daltrey in, as well as Christian Vander and Edgar Froese. I'm always found to find someone here who still knows some music after all.

Gave the comic a quick look and it's got the rock legend and supernatural stuff that I'm interested in, so I'll definitely be checking it out some more, it seems to be right up my alley.

Huh, for some reason I thought there were more rockers in your Sgt. Pepper cover. It is a Where's Waldo of pop culture references though.
