So, not quite an update, but I want to share this with you guys!

This weekend Danie and I participated on our very first Comic Con!

We were invited to "La Mole", one of the most beloved comic conferences in Mexico City, and what can I say, we are extremely happy and proud to have been able to be on the same expo area with some of the big names (Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos were there!)

We had two very long and tiring days, but now we have another milestone in our short career as comic artists.

For Danie the highlight was when one girl asked to sign her art.

For me, the best thing was when, at the end of the day, Humberto Ramos recognized me (from previous conferences where he has signed my comics) and went to greet me... at my stand!!!!

OK, enough, I had to tell it!

You can see how it went at our new Facebook page.

Greetings from the Happy Hippo

And... we have an M9 Girls update!

Danie is finishing her senior year and she is flooded with projects and work, so she has been putting our little pet project aside.

But I finally managed to kindly get new art from her (I believe the voodoo doll worked) and we have a new page. We hope to get back to our normal almost weekly schedule now!

Look at Pato wake up after being subjected to the Professor's treatment to save the girls' life: update.

I will add color during the weekend (see? this is why having a Real Life work sucks!) but you can check Danie's raw pencils! I think it is interesting to check her work separated from mine Cool

Cheers from the Hippo

Update for the M9 Girls.

Karla loves the spotlight, and it shows on her new found abilities. See her here.

Enjoy!

Also, I put the tutorials to good use to color this page. I think I did a decent job, but you are free to send me your critics, of course!

Update for the M9 Girls.

Only two days late, and now I have a buffer (of size 1, but that is a non negative number, right?)

Pato discovers her powers with a little help from her friend, in today's update.

Hey Gual-Kun

I should also ask you how the comic con went!

For us it was really special. I think you can say you have succeeded when something that you do as a hobby results in an invitation to a convention. It was fun being on the other side of the desk, and people coming at you and commenting at your work.

For Danie it was great to be able to showcase her artistry live, for me, poor writer, still was fun to talk with people about the creative process.

And of course, it is very cool to brag with friends about how I was on the same Artist's Alley than Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, although I must admit that the lines to get their autographs were a little bit longer than the lines to get mine Wink

I am working on finishing a collection of short tales, so when I repeat the experience I don't only have the pin-ups of my comic, which of course showcase Danie's talents, but also a short edition of my stories. I would also like to create little figurines of my girls, but I think it is a little bit too costly to explore that. Anyway, the experience was great, being able to inhabit a different inner self for a couple of days.

But now you will have to share your own experience!

Cheers from the Hippo

Nice to hear you did well.
For us, it was great. Meet some new friends and knew about their comics too. Things were better than expected in sales and in innovation Razz
Sadly, we didn't had famous comic makers signing autographs at the con. The most well known are like retired and the only table with known ones was mainly for publicity and they weren't there like never. But well, in the bright side I wasn't so intimidated XD.
And oh, my God, we have fans Very Happy, not thousands but at least we have, hehe.

Let's see how it's the next one.

Anahi discovers her perception has gone deeper. See it here.

Enjoy!

The colors on the central panel are by Danie this week.

Update for the M9 Girls.

Anahi gets a glimpse of the Professor's emotions. What did she see?

After saving my computer from certain death, I can share the new page. I hope you like it, I did some complex (at least for me) coloring!

Enjoy!

Update for the M9 Girls.

The Girls find a name for their super-powered team. Pato has something to say about it.

We are about to close this chapter, dear friends, so stay put.

Hi Hippo

I had a look at your comic. I didn't have time to read it all but at a first look I'd say it's well written and has a good start- intruiguing intro, bit of mistery, characters'introduction works well. Also, it as a good layout and a neat storytelling.
Those are the best things I've found in the comic, but there's also something which needs more work to get a professional look. The drawings are OK but a bit amateurish. There are some mistakes in anatomy (i.e. the central girl in the cover, with white dress- has offset eyes), backgrounds are poor in details and perspective.

I know this is sensible stuff and I hope you don't take any offense. I see talent there but it needs more study and work to reach the quality it surely has in potential.

Cheers and keep up the good work!
