The lines are coming out aliased (jagged), often with white artifacts and gaps along the edges. I don't do color myself, but from what I have read, people tend to do their colors on a layer below the line work (which is set to "Multiply" above them), and that way they can have the colors go behind the lines a bit so there aren't edging problems. Also there's all this complicated sounding talk of "flatting" and so forth that might help too.

Hey thanks on the good advice.

Actually I use the multi-layer approach with the multiply line work on top. My line art is quite loose so it is hard filling in the flat colors, therefore the lines, which I only notice afterwards =(




Thanks for the flatting links, I'm looking into them, that should help me improve! Finally after 6 months of playing by heart (plus some other excellent tutorials)

I have also noticed that the published version has some jagging/aliasing issues that I don't see on my original drawing (even the one on low-res). Could ComicPress be messing it up?

Update, plus renewal of domain!

The M9 site has been live for a year now, tough the first page was published on september 7. What should be our anniversary? Going live or publsihing page one?

Well, we can celebrate the day of inception (on July) and the official anniversary on the day of the first publication.
