As I like the story and the characters, two remarks about the art.
1. Careful with smooth computergenerated backgrounds, they can backfire. For example the picture with the gun picked up from the wooden flor. The genuine drawings might look crude if they are put to contrast against a virtual pattern.
2. The face of Marie Laveau (the name makes me think of Redbone, as they used the same reference) is a bit close of getting mangaesk. I am a bit biased here, but the faces of the other characters have a different style, that is more distinctive. Not a real problem, but something to think about in further developement.

First and foremost thank you for your feedback, i always love hearing from fellow webcomic readers, writers, and artists.
1. In the latest page, and pages before I've gotten very used to using the wood panel graphic overlaid on the brown background. Lazy yes, but at the time very effective. Moving forward, i see where you're coming from and even drew the individual bricks in the panel where Colin drops Marie Laveau III ( a historical reference with fantasy involved) into the side car. Definitely see the difference and will be doing more hand drawing moving forward. Thank you
2. Marie Laveau III is my Faye Valentine. Hence why she might be a bit manga. I've gone through a few ideas with her and she will be changing appearance shortly in fact.
With that in mind, again thanks for your feedback. My computer has officially kicked the bucket. Although i have other means to post new pages it might be awhile til i post again unfortunately. I wish it wasnt so but oh well. The story will continue but until i get my computer fixed i may be on haitus for a while, I will do my best to post next week like usual.
Thanks for reading! |

I was quite aware of the historical reference (Marie Laveau aka the Witch Queen of New Orleans in the first half of the 19th century, also namegiver of the Song by Redbone), but I had never heard about Faye Valentine before, so I looked it up, and now the manga-reference makes sense. Still, I think it a bit changing of the appearance might fit her closer to the general style. |
