The Snail Factory

The comic updates every Monday and Thursday and currently has 42 episodes.

Any feedback that you could offer would be greatly appreciated! I'd really like to know what you think.

Love the artwork and uh... character design.
Any comic that uses 'SPLOP' as an onomatopoeia is ok by me!
#39 made me laugh out loud.
The font on the later episodes fits the feel of the strip much better.
On the downside, I had a look at your site. Launching the reader into what amounts to the archive page doesn't feel right. Perhaps consider making the latest or the first comic the home page instead.

One last thing, eating those funny mushrooms you found in the woods is probably not a good idea!

Thank you, NobbyNobody! I appreciate your feedback. Number 39 is probably the one that I consider funniest, too.

I had a look at your Odd-Fish comic just earlier today and I thought that was very impressive as well. Needless to say, the art was very well done and I enjoyed much of the humor as well as the overall concept of what I read (not to mention the fact that you seem to have that sort of rare appreciation for the comedic value of mollusks Wink ).

The text in the later episodes is actually being done by hand (no, I can't take credit for that), but I'm sure that the artist will be very pleased to hear you say that, as that is exactly what he was going for.

I appreciate your input about the site and I will definitely be taking that into consideration. We do have a "newest comic" page, perhaps that's what I should be linking people to.

I would like to take your advice about the mushrooms, but they're the source of too much inspiration.

Fun stuff... interesting and distinctive artwork and an interesting abstraction on the toils of what most of us experience as "work." Very surreal and sometimes disturbing.

To echo other thoughts, the site doesn't quite feel right for the strip and I often found myself clicking around a lot to get back to the comic archive. But maybe it was that cannoli I just ate... maybe give Snail Factory a site all by itself with a design that reflects the artwork? Just an armchair suggestion.

@ewomack

Thank you! Yes, I would say that interesting, surreal and sometimes disturbing is generally what the comic is going for. Wink

While we're probably not going to be creating a completely separate site for it just yet, we are looking at ways to improve the current navigation.

If you don't mind, I'd like to ask you something (and anyone else can feel free to jump in with their own thoughts as well). You mentioned that you were having some trouble getting back to the comic archive page. Directly below each individual comic there's a "comic archive" button. If we had made that button larger or more distinctive do you think this would have helped any?

Or was it more of a location issue and do you think there would be a better place to put the button? Would you like to see something like that on the top of every comic or do you think it's better to have that sort of thing below the comic on each individual comic page?

Well that snail got what he deserved. What did it think it was a porkeyman?

Yes, that kind of spontaneous evolution is probably much better for pseudo-cockfighting pocket monsters, than it is for standardized manufacturing.

Which reminds me, #44 is out today!

Your artwork reminds me of java puzzle game backgrounds. Very surreal and clickable. LOL. The load time is a bit long, probably mine is the same as well. Check out my new site, I'd appreciate your feedback. http://lolpartdeux.com .

@lolpartdeux

I think your comic has a unique premise. You can sense something spontaneous about it, as if you are taking down these observations right as you have them and they are fresh in your mind.

I appreciate it's weirdness. Not all gags work for me, but it is certainly different and more original then many other comics I seen lately. Art works well with the theme.
