I'm not sure where I expect this to go, but a brief exchange in Jonathon's Live-Journal comments section led me to this.
Yeah...err...if that sparks anyone's muse, go on and add. Try not to be mean. _________________ What I lack in sincerity, I make up for in sarcasm.

Was I supposed to follow the Ninja-and-a-hat-story-story, or is it just the concept of a bar as it is now? Anyhow, this is it.
Of course that's not mean... or is it. _________________ |

I like this. In fact, I'm going to participate... very soon. I'd like to suggest some rules-of-play (though they are negotiable!)
1.) Introducing either yourself or your characters into the comic are both encouraged, or stereotypical made-up comicker characters. Comickers should outnumber characters though, because previous jams have proven that a large number of characters-from-comics can quickly become unwieldy.
2.) Also to prevent character overload, no one is obligated to include the comickers or characters from previous posts. Though of course you can! Just don't include all of them at once or anything. Small groups make for better writing. You can continue previous story lines or not as you see fit.
3.) Let's try to do this strip-style for a change, 'kay? Your comic can be any size, any shape, colour or not (colour is better), but end it on a punchline rather than comic book style pages. This might encourage more contributors.
4.) This is not a venue to make unkind jokes about Tim fBuckley or whoever else is famous that you don't like. Leave that to the general ramblings forum. Making fun of genres, especially orc porn as a genre, is okay though.
5.) The title of the strip, apparently, is "The Infinite Canvas." Everything else is up in the air.
EDIT: Too lazy to click through this whole thread? The entire jam comic can be read on this mirror site without all the discussion. Then come back here and add to it!_________________ Jonathon Dalton

Jeronimus: Nope...no need to carry from the previous strip.
Jonathon: Good rules. I'm going to pretend they were what i had in mind from the beginning. _________________ What I lack in sincerity, I make up for in sarcasm.

Maybe another rule: Narration should be from the unnamed and unshown bartender/owner's point of view. (Typewriter-style font optional)
Edit Heh...Alanis Morisette's "Ironic" on the juke. Good one. _________________ What I lack in sincerity, I make up for in sarcasm.

Hehehe I giggle every time I see that first panel, Jonathon. "I was nominated for a WCCA!" I'm guessing your next iced coffee wil get irished up. What does the cat (boy?)'s t-shirt say? It looks like it fays Fan-Bot.
Okram, I think it's a free-for-all sort of thing. No plot and all the strips are independent, so order isn't really an issue. _________________ What I lack in sincerity, I make up for in sarcasm.

It's a cat girl, and her shirt says "Fan Grrl." Also, I think I drew your arm broken in that first panel by mistake.
Order might matter depending on what's in your strip. I think you're only allowed to reserve space, though, if you are currently drawing a strip that will be done in a few hours and want to make sure no one sneaks one in in the meantime. _________________ Jonathon Dalton

When inspiration strikes, I keep on drawing till I've got something! Or I don't do anything at all. Usually it's the latter.
I love this jam. _________________ |
