Howdy, all...

Hope this is the right place to post this. It's been a little while...

Anyhow, the last 2 PMs I've tried to send are both sitting in my outbox. They never got sent, and the outbox doesn't give me an option for resending them.

Anybody got any ideas why this might have happened and why I can't send emails? I know I'm not very tech savvy, but I thought I had the whole "email" thing down years ago...

Thanks.

They don't go to your "sent" box until the recipient reads them.

Oh... that's why I can't find mine.

That clears up the mystery...

Thanks, Casual!

Were they ever received/opened -- did they move from your Outbox to your Sentbox?

Selfish reason for asking... I sent a PM on the 20th and it's still in my Outbox, yet I've seen the intended recipient online this week.

You'd be surprised how many people are unaware that there is a private message system, and even those of us that use it sometimes go days without glancing up at the tiny text that says "You have xx new messages".

I guess it might be so, tho' I also get an email notification of a new PM, which makes sure I don't miss anything.

By default notifications are turned off unless you choose to turn them on, which you still can't actually do yourself.

However I always turn that option on in people's accounts if they've PMed me in order to get their avatar or signature changed, because I assume they'd want to know that it's been done and it seems rather daft that it's turned off as default, but I don't think there's anyway to actually change that.

Wendy, glad you posted. Smile Reason I'm asking is, I sent you a PM on 20 Oct 2011 @ 10:50 and it's still showing in my Outbox. Which is the same date that wonderbrat31 started this thread, which makes me think maybe there was some kind of blip that morning that stopped recipients from seeing a "You have new messages" message.

Hang on, checking my backlog... Yep, you're both there.

I'm just about to make a late lunch for me and Jess and then I'll get you both sorted out.

I'll add myself to the list of people who have messages about signatures waiting in their outbox. No hurry, but it'd be great if you can take a look when you get a chance, wendyw. Thanks so much!

Okay, all three of you are in my list and I'll get you sorted out tonight.
Sorry for the wait.
