Yep. That was actually the final straw at my last job. Windows broke itself (shocking, I know) and borked the system so hard that it took Microsoft themselves three days and five levels of escalation to fix the problem. By the end of it, I was in a screaming match with the owner because he was SURE somebody somewhere did something wrong. Even Microsoft had no idea what caused the problem. It was a pretty ugly situation overall and after that, I had enough of being a sysadmin.

I'm a liberal arts refugee turned IT serf. My day gets filled up by everything from coding in MVC to gathering and analyzing requirements to troubleshooting off the shelf software that will never work smoothly no matter how much work one puts into them. To fit this general job I have a general title of IT Analyst. I've made quite a few rounds in everything from art conservation to animal research to neurology to pharmaceuticals. Along the way I've worked with some people who put the "anal" in analyst. I strive never to fit that category. Comics keep me sane... or make me more insane... I haven't decided which...

Thanks! It's an awesome job and although I've done a lot of cool things as a cop I'm not planning on retiring from it. I'm planning on resigning one day. I don't think we (as cartoonists) have these skills merely to entertain ourselves. I believe there's a reason for everything and personally I think my dream of supporting my family (comfortably) solely on artistic income will come true. My love of cartooning is immensely strong and I'm hoping one or more of my projects pay off one day. Of course I'm not an idiot. I'll keep the cop job until I'm certain we'll be OK. And if if not then I'm a cop for life. Win win!

I'm QA for videogames. No, not the fun ones. I started my comic when I was a secretary for a couple of jerks - the new job is great but I have about 80% less time to work on comics or art now.

I'm a Vet tech.I'm just starting to read webcomics actually.Stopped reading physical comics years ago due to too many EPIC storylines and rehashed story lines.I find web comics much more entertaining and original.
