Is this being treated as a relaunch? Emma Frost is in it, but wasn't she (in the movie timeline) Wolverine's girlfriend's sister in "Wolverine" and was a kid when, at the end of the movie, she met a grown up Charles Xavier? If they are doing a relaunch, that's awesome. Maybe Cyclops won't get pissed on so much.
Personally, I think they tried too hard in #3 to get in as many characters as possible and, in doing so, ruined the chance to carry on. |

I've never really enjoyed superhero teams, but really like the look of this film. Hope it delivers on its early promise. |

I take each movie as a separate stand alone film, if i don't then I have questions... Way to much |

I'm looking forward to seeing this. I almost saw it Friday after work, but the theaters were packed. I couldn't find a decent parking space, so I said screw it.
Maybe sometime tomorrow. |

Awesome movie! Marvel's done a good job this summer. Thor and First Class are pretty darn cool. |

So someone posted to their facebook wall that this movie was racist? What do you think he was referring to? I haven't seen it yet. _________________

I'm really not sure... I didn't see any racism (except some anti-mutant sentiment). |

This movie looks absolutely atrocious. I'm so tired of Hollywood spewing out super hero action flick after super hero action flick without even the slightest consideration to the fan base of people who actually LIKE super heroes and would appreciate seeing a decent frickin movie about them.
Christopher Nolen is the exception of course. Much love to him.

SPLIRS WARNIN OMG
-the black guy dies first
-characters portrayed as Scottish or Irish in the comics speak with American accents |
Technically, the black guy doesn't die first. That would be magneto's mom and a couple of nazi's. I was pissed of that moira and banshee weren't Scottish/Irish.
I am really tired of hollywood just changing things all willy-nilly. They have no respect for the comic fandom.
Also, yes, I believe this a reboot. It's the only way to explain the massive continuity issues. |

As a movie it was fine. As a treatment of the X-Men... it made me quite sad... It's important to forget anything you know about the X-Men prior to watching it, or it will bring tears to the eyes, but it was enjoyable enough...

I think if I was to make a movie based on a comic, I wouldn't try to please the fans of the comic. They'll find fault with anything they feel like because of how it's translated to the screen.
I think it IS very important to not try to apply X-Men knowledge on any of the movies. It's a reimagining much like the Ultimate series.
I only know Batman through TV and the movies, so the new Batman series is brand new to me.
Same with the Superman relaunch they're planning. |
