I was looking at the marketplace on my android phone and people have comics on there -- some free ones, and some that are a buck or two per issue.

I sampled some of them and in some cases the implementation is very good. when done correct it works shockingly well -- the comic has back and forward buttons and they typically go from panel to panel, sometimes zooming in or out for effect, and using panning creatively and sometimes even vibrating the phone to add effect. all in all I see a ton of potential here.

the question is -- how do you do this? I have no idea where to start.

1) how do you get your comic into the correct software format so that it can be used as an app on a smartphone?

2) how do you get it on the marketplace?

Not sure what the answers are to your questions but I was thinking something along the same lines as to when they are going to come out with a "comic book reader" version of a kindle or whatever, not an IPAD something designed strictly for comics. Whoever does it and coordinates a website for it would be a genius, I wish I had the funds to develop the "E Comic Reader".

I've actually been one step further and put one of my comics on my girlfriends kindle, I had to reformat some of the pages and enlarge the text, and besides being in black and white it looks brilliant on there.
I'm going through the entire story now with the intention of selling it on the kindle store.

That's not a bad idea. I've got one of those, I should mess around with it.

Hi everyone, I did it.
Lacey Investigations: Killer At Heavens Gate: Book One. (long title)
is now on sale in the Kindle store.

I've remastered the whole story rewriting and drawing larger panels so it can be comfortably read on a handheld device.

Do me a favour and check it out, Its only $0.99/ £0.70.

Then have a go yourself and give me a shout.
(didn't mean to rhyme that last bit)

I've gone one step shorter and just happen to have webcomic sites that browse quite easily on an Android. Which really isn't much of a feat.

It was the smaller text which posed the problem, one that you don't have because yours doesn't have any.
fabulous artwork by the way.

One of them does. :D Thanks by the way.

Though I'd say your comic's text is a bit small for reading even on a large computer screen.
