It's only just kicked off so maybe it's too early to announce with fanfare, but another side project shuffled its way into the ether today, after several "extra" characters who have only been glimpsed briefly in a couple of comics started complaining about the lack of meaty roles. I already had the locations, vehicles and props, so what the hell, MARS was born. Tentatively subtitled A Murder Mystery on Mars!

Woo that is a big page of updates!

Is it just my imagination, or have the hairstyles of your characters been getting fancier lately? Hm... Or maybe the rendering's just got a bit sharper somehow.

Incidentally, the Starship Captain masthead, which seems to be set to scale like this

HEIGHT="200" WIDTH="95%"

is stretched to the point of near-indecipherability on my 1080p screen. I think if you take the "height" parameter out, it will scale the height in proportion to the width, which should at least keep it less distorted. Still, I would recommend *not* scaling the graphic, as that almost never looks very good.

If you want it to *feel* like it's scaling, while keeping the actual image sharp and fresh, maybe try doing something like having scaling things of the same background color--just the color, with no detail--on either side of it; if they're just a flat color, then you can stretch them without having them feel distorted.

For instance, if I was doing this myself in my crotchety old table-using ways, I'd do something like this:

(Eh those spaces in the otherwise empty cells are supposed to be the non-breaking space HTML code ("&" followed immediately by "#160;") which apparently the forum does not parse correctly in the "code" brackets. :P)

Thanks for taking a look!

That title banner failure is a major slap-head stupidity on my part. I've rejigged and uploaded all the html pages <pant, pant> and everything looks OK now. Thanks for drawing this embarrassment to my attention. (I think it was maybe a leftover from a dodgy "Hmm, how does this look?" experiment that was carried through into new pages... and I was so unobservant that I didn't even notice. My offline html pages looked OK but the online versions were ugh.)

Sometimes I tinker with the models -- when my crappy old laptop lets me, that is -- which might result in occasional facial or hairstyle upgrades. Alas this depends on the will of whimsical software gods, who bear no love for me. Still fun, though!
