What do you do for a living?
I rule a principality. At least, they tell me I rule it. To me it mostly seems like I host social events and try to stay on top of an ever-growing pile of official documents -- and yet the country has not collapsed! Clearly parties and paper are far more vital to one's national vigor than they appear.
How much money do you make?
Did you wish to know the extent of the royal treasury, or merely what my personal spending allowance is?
What are your bank account details, as well as your security code/password and pin number?
What is a 'bank'? For that matter, what's a 'pin number'? (I'm sure I own a great many pins, but I somehow don't think you want to know precisely how many.) As for my security codes... are you sure playing with secret messages is something you consider worth losing your head over?
What is your exact home address, and what hours are you and any other members of the household capable of defending themselves not at home?
At this time of year I live at my palace in Raflahdo. There are several armed guards on duty there at all hours, whether I am living there or not, and when they catch someone trying to steal from me, they cut their hands off. (I know you didn't ask what the penalty for stealing was, but I thought that it was a piece of information that might be useful to you... consider it a gift.)
Now for my questions...
Will you tell me a bit about your family?
How do you amuse yourself when you are not working?
What kind of artwork do you like?

What do you do for a living? My main employment is to ensure the privacy of a number of individuals that, for convenience, we shall call The Old Crowd. But I dabble a little in private investigation and problem solving.
How much money do you make? You've met Petal Oak. Not enough. You'd be amazed how much money it is possible not to save over 800 years with her around.
I'm not even going to repeat that stupid question. Seriously. Do I look like your aged and gullible grandmother? Because you certainly don't look like any popular televangelist.
What is your address and other information a careful burglar would need but is too lazy to acquire in the usual way. 14975 Plantation Crest Drive, Nebraska City, Texas, USA. I also have safe houses in New York, London, and the Ukraine. Feel free to try to rob any one of them. You'll probably succeed. But know in advance that I have a lot of time on my hands, and I will regain my own. If not from you, then from your children. Or theirs. I'll leave it to your spirit to explain to them why the large angry man with the sharp sword is doing so many very bad things to them.
Will you tell me a bit about your family? With the exception of my lovely daughter (who I'd rather you not bother, since she's a new mother and has enough issues with her mother-in-law) my family is long dead.
How do you amuse yourself when you are not working? Usually, I try to find a quiet place to read and smoke a cigar. That seldom works out, however.
What kind of artwork do you like? Anything from the Renaissance to the end of the Impressionist Period. Essentially, the period from where artists worked out the ideas of scale and perspective up until they decided they didn't have to actually paint actual things in order to get paid.
I don't have any questions at this time, but reserve the right to ask some later if I so choose. |
