i like what you did with the site. it looks a lot better. i also think it's cool that the reincarnation of the characters is how you will be introducing new drawing style and the use of color in 2007. that's clever and it shows you are pushing forward, trying new things and wanting to improve. good for you.
any news on the syndication front? _________________ |

Thanks, GD... I do try.
As far as syndication goes, well, I figure newspaper syndicates just aren't right for me. I couldn't handle all the censorship. I do a spin off of Land of Nodd for TFormers.com, Transformers in the Land of Nodd, and they usually let me say whatever I like. A couple weeks ago, though, they had to step in and say "well, that's going a little far" so I had to redo a strip... and the humor suffered.
See for yourself: Original Version and Edited Version
So that just doesn't work for me.
My local newspaper has started running the strip, and that has gone smoothly so far. Pine Magazine is running it too. They're an alternative mag, which is perfect. Just waiting to see if any others accept. _________________

For those who have missed it... 'Postmortem Bugaboo' has returned! The strip now carries the 'Land of Nodd' title, and will be featured as an every other few week thing. For now I'm just putting up the original strips one by one (now in color and slightly tweaked) in addition to a regular update. This will be just until we get into the new adventures of the lil ghost.
If you have no idea of what I'm talking about, just read Land of Nodd as you normally do (because we all read it here, right? ) and enjoy the occasional offbeat strip. _________________

Wait... they objected to a vibrator, but a gun is all right? What the heck? I guess in their universe an orgasm is a disaster but a bullet through the brain is just hunky-dory, huh?
That's just ... too freaky, I guess. I mean, as far as I can tell their accepted version treads closer to "obscenity" than the one they rejected. |

Bear- Yeah, I mentioned that to them. I noted how I had done another strip for them before where a Transformer was doing it doggy style with a slinky dog, and they said that in that case the joke was "less obvious" so it was ok.
I don't know how that makes a very obvious gun ok, but whatever. _________________

...And in recent censorship news: My Red Bear strip was just given a "no" by my local paper because it "conveys suicide". Are people really this sensitive? _________________
